Sampled on several occasions. Pours clear red with light purple hue. Nose of freshly picked cherries and almond. Very fresh and vivid sourness in the body and lots of tart and funk in the taste.

Pur essendo una kriek questa birra non ha niente da invidiare a tante altre grandi birre. Lo sciroppo di ciliegia bilancia alla perfezione l’acidità del lambic senza far diventare la birra un succo di frutta come spesso capita per questo stile. Bella schiuma compatta e colore brillante.

Drunk 23/04/14 in carnoustie, with mum and sis. pours a cheery deep red, quite cloudy. tons of cherry aroma, sour, with some funky farmhouse vibes. big fizzy sour cherry flavour, but mellows with each swig. love this style. very drinkable on a hot summers day, magic

Bottle 750ml, 2013 vintage. Pours a bright but not so dense red with huge white foam that recedes quickly. Aroma is cherries and berries, leaves and lactic notes. Very light barnyard funk per Cantillon standards. Taste is very tart cherries but also a surprising cherry peel bitterness. Palate is light with moderate carbonation. Not as rich as the Lou Pepe versions, but still interesting. I much prefer this version fresh.

Glass at the source. Pours clouded red with a pinkish head. Scent is slight floral, citrus, dry cherry. Flavor follows nose, with some yogurt sour. Nice dry dark cherry, lemon, slight floral.

Glass at the brewery, sampled alongside the Lou Pepe version. Vibrant red-magenta with small pink head. Aroma is amazing deep pie cherries, lemon, apple, light Brett. Taste is mouth-puckering cherry and apricot with a bit of grain, bitter almond, and citrus-pith bitterness. Much lighter body and less fruit character than the Lou Pepe. Very good.

Bottle 375 ml at home, into a tulip glass. ABV 5%, bottled on 2009 Deep red colour, bright, clear body with good activity in it. Big fluffy head, pink-ish in colour, with good retention, collapsing to a thin layer of foam on the surface. Light lacing left behind. Aroma of cherries of course but not very intense, a bit sour, dusty sugar. Very sour taste with lots of cherries, some wood and cork. Thin body with good carbonation, quite tart on the palate. Nice beer, although I think is too sour for me still.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Not sure what to say here. It’s basically everything you expect a well made kriek to be. Balanced, drinkable, slightly sweet and fairly tarty. Good drop
