3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 darkguardian (713) - Florida, USA - OCT 18, 2008
UPDATED: JAN 28, 2009 22oz Red color pour with a light pink head. Very sour nose with cherries and some definite balsamic. Taste is acidic and tart cherry but is lacking the smooth round complexity of the Lou Pepe. This is a solid beer but its not near as good as the Lou pepe which is not as sour but has more depth and complexity. Still one of the best plain krieks out there.

Not a big big fan of sour brew but this was great. Bought mine from a local international shop it had been sitting at the top of their shelves for a while (almost 7 months) in the light. Im sure it lots some of its properties but was still good. Very sour tart. Cherrys other light fruit. Good brew. great color btw

Placid and plum-meat in color. Aroma is sharp and acetic with sulfuric notes of diesel exhaust. Taste is unbelievably tart, like a spoonful of citric acid with cherry skin and earthy brett. Call me a savage, but this just aint my bag. $10/12oz

Tried to share this ith a friend of mine who is into wine, he didnt care much for it and thouigh the cork had ruined the beer. It does have an extremly sour vinegar nose along with rubber and cherries. Tart and acidic flavor, with woody and cherry notes. Worked well with a zip in between a long evening with different beers.

Bottle-pours a realtively clear chierry red with no head or lacing. perhaps bottle has gone flat? Nose- vinegar, lemon, leather and faint whiff of cherries. Taste- quite acidic,, horse blanket and sour cherry. Earthy, woody, yet juicy and mouth puckering. Very refreshing and drinkable as all hell.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 StefanSD (1542) - Lakeside, California, USA - OCT 3, 2008
750 ml bottle(2005 bottling imprinted on cork). Pours a slightly cloudy red color with a small pink head. The aroma is bold and funky with horse-blanket and county landfill. The flavor is sour, sour, sour; cherries and some wood. The mouthfeel is smooth and acidic. The finish is long with lingering acidity. Overall: This is not a sour for beginners--very potent, very tart.

Bottle. Beautiful clear red with plenty of pink head. Slightly woody aroma with a hint of yoghurt. Light body with plenty of fine carbonation. Very tart with subtle fruitiness. Interesting complexity in the mid-taste with pear-drops and yoghurt. An acid kick in the finish. A unique and pleasant beer.

Bottle, Ale Cellar, Darlington. This was one of my first Lambics, sampled some years ago at Quinns. I suppose you either love or hate the level of sourness on offer here....I’m leaning towards the former, although am not wholly pants down smitten.
I sampled this with some cave-aged spanish blue and thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip. Drinks like this is what food and drink should be all about....taste sensations that stimulate and make you sit up and take notice, then go back for more. That is why I have definite respect for this bottle of cherry sourness.
