UPDATED: JAN 2, 2011 Pours deep opaque red with no head. Aroma is quite sharp and sour, with a great deal of acidity. Massive horse taint, wet hay, and farmy funk. Bracingly puckering mouthfeel with a bone dry finish. The quintessential kriek...

2006 bottle. pours a hazy rose-red with a bit of a brown tint, with a moderate very slightly pink colored rose head that quickly fades to a film. smell is funky, with oak and cherries playing in a spicy and yet musty barnyard. hint of the sort of vegetables you might find in a red italian soup. quite complex and more enjoyable than in the various funky beers i’ve had in the past. i think that hint of cherries makes it. taste is sharp warm vegetable funk, with just he tiniest hint of cherries. i’m not sure i like it. the finish is great: very tart, tiny sweet with pretty big sour, even a hint of salt. medium to light bodied, but a bit sticky, with a ton of tiny bubbles. i really like the finish. the rest of the beer isn’t quite for me yet, though.

First Official Houston Tasting. Thanks to BigGreen (BA) for bringing this. 2003 bottle. Great reddish orange color with no head at all. Aroma of sour, sour, sour and sour. Some cherries as well. Love it. Flavor is very souring with a super drying of the mouth that leaves only tart cherries on the palette. Wow. Fantastic lambic.

Pours a lightly hazy ruby reddish/pink with a smaller bubbly/creamy white head. Aroma of funk, horse blanket, sour cherries, musty and yes everything you would expect from a Cantillon. Flavor of funky sour cherries, some vinegar, medium tartness, cleans the palate right off and as expected from Cantillon.

Nice pink/red color with a creamy pink head. Tart cherries in the nose. Sour with the same cherries in flavor. A nice cherry lambic.

UPDATED: NOV 29, 2007 Pink out of the bottle with a short lasting head, very tart and sour with some (but not a lot) of unripe cherry, nice sour finish. Good kriek but not the best.

From a bottle poured pink with a little bit of pink head. Nice tart flavor, good flavoring of cherries. Nice biting finish.

750ml bottle. Cherry red with a short-lived pink tinged head. Tart fruit, acidic aroma with plenty of farmyard. The flavour had masses of tart fruit with a dry, acidic finish. Very enjoyable.

UPDATED: MAR 17, 2009 Looks just like it does in that picture =). Like a dark graprefruit pour Fine tiny bubbles. Stingy musty aroma, floral. Would not say the flavor is vingary like a flemish sour. It is very sour but it is more of a tart acidic sour, especially the aftertaste. Very crisp and very dry, cherry flavor is minimal but it works. Packs a punch. Wow! A beautiful sour piece of heaven. Aroma was huge...musty acid is the best way to describe it. Pour was a light brown with no bubbles or head..but after the taste that’s fine. Incredibly sour and acidic. Burns the cheeks and gums...bit of a sour cherry afftertaste. Outstanding.
