Pours dark red with a generous pink head. Sour cherries in the aroma. Taste starts slightly sweet with not as much cherry as I expected. Tart/sour finish. Very nice lambic.

Bottle. Pours a clear red, with a thin pinkish white head. Quite tart, cherries of course dominating. Sweet, tart and dry on the finish

12oz bottle in a flute. Pours ruby/pink with a thick, light pink head. Aroma of cherries, toasted malts, spiciness of the yeast, and a little bit of hops. The flavor of this beer is sour from the cherries and yeast. A really good kriek. Worth trying.

On draft at the brewery. A nice cherry tart flavor. Red color with a pink head. This one is tough to beat. Drinkable and refreshing.

Shared by CapFlu. Nice deep red, pink head. Aroma is sour cherries, yeast, horseblanket. Taste is a nice firm sour cherriness, that the yeast really compliments... Surprised I’ve never had this.

Bottle: 2010: Small but vast light pink head on top of a haztly dark rose pink colored beer. Smell cardboard, barnyard, bacterias, hint of sweat and dried hops. Taste is tart, hint of cherries, Yeast, wood, dried hops, a slight slight hint of something caramel-alike. Good tart aftertaste with some yeasty notes. Low to medium carbo, sparkling tart mouthfeel, medium to fuller body and a light watery texture.

375ml bottle with a bottled-on date of April 18, 2011. Right after I popped the top, the cork started slowly sliding out of the bottle, so, needless to say, there was plenty of carbonation on the pour. It’s a bright hazy reddish pink with a big fizzy pinkish head that recedes to a bubbly collar quickly. Aroma is definitely Cantillon with the wet hay and lactic acid character that I’m used to in their beers. There are some sweet cherries in there as well which keep the acidity from getting overpowering. Taste is much less funky than I was expecting with more acidity and a lot more tannins, much drier and oakier than the aroma suggests. Less cherry than the aroma as well. The finish is where the earthy funk comes out a little, with the wet leather and oak lingering. Mouthfeel is well-carbonated and light bodied making it very drinkable. This is one of the more drinkable Cantillons I’ve had but lacks the complexity of some of the others, like the Lou Pepe Kreik I had last week. Decent beer.
