From a corked 750ml bottle. Pours a vibrant red with a prominent pink head, quickly receding to a thin ring around the glass. Earthy and musty aroma, with an almost bacterial note...albeit it in a strangely pleasant sense. Full tartness right up front which gradually tapers off to a drying and souring finish. Notes of cherry occasionally peer through the sourness, though I was hoping for more fruity character. Very refreshing, thin bodied and easy drinking, I enjoyed this although I was expecting a little more.

750mL corked bottle. Poured deep red with bubbly pink head which settled quickly to very thin lace. Aromas of cherries and oak. Taste of tart cherry. Nice carbonation and medium body helped with the mouthfeel.

Bouquet: Earthy, wheat, yeast, tart red raspberry and cherry.
Flavor: Wheat, yeast, metallic note, moderately tart cherry. Finishes with a bitter white grapefruit and grapefruit rind.
Comment: Easier drinking now than the Rose and the Lou Pepe, though not as complex as the latter (shorter finish and less intensity). I’m surprised to find that I may like this better than the framboise.

Fruit your milk aroma brilliant crimsonbeer with foamy pink head. Also roasted malt and some wood. Very sour flavour which causes salvation with fruity finish.

Fin färg och mycket fruktig doft av unga körsbär. Mycket god syrlighet och trevlig fruktig smak, Lång och syrlig eftersmak. Kanske den bästa krieken överhuvudtaget.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours a lovely ruby red colour with a pink head that dies away very quickly. Great aroma of cherries, almond and balsamic vinegar. Tastes tart with balsamic vinegar again. Lovely tart cherry flavour with almond from the stones. Long balsamic finish. Very nice!

Cantillon Kriek on väriltään ruusunpunainen ja sen vaahto on jotain, väriltään vaalenapunaista muistuttavaa. Toisin kuin esim. Lou Pepe Kriek, se ei ulkomuodoltaan ole kuitenkaan samanlaisuudessaan yhtä houkutteleva. Silti se on oikein kaunis. Kirsikan tuoksu on ilmeinen ja maanläheisyys on Cantillonin tavaramerkkinä taas läsnä. Ken pitkän nenänsä Cantillon Kriek -lasiinsa upottaa saa tuntea sieraimissaan melkoisen taivaallisen ja happaman kirsikkahelvetin. Tuoksu on toisaalta lajilleen tyypillinen, mutta kuitenkin Cantillonille persoonallinen. Olut on maultaan erittäin hapanta ja tökäsyttää makuhermot ihmeellisesti hereille ainakin tällä olutpuoskarilla. Kuivan hapan maku on tällä kertaa erityisen viehättävä. Kirpeä ja kuitenkin kevyt Cantillon Kriek on erittäin kova Lambic ja täten mahtava kesäolut.
