3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 danielecamo (86) - ITALY - MAR 13, 2012
Birra a cui abituarsi gradatamente...al naso cherry, acidità e sentore alcoolico....al palato sicuramente acidità, asprezza, limone, che lascia spazio ancora alla ciliegia sotto spirito.

Poured into Champagneglass to replace fluteglass. Pinkish red, hazy with no head. Aroma is sour citrus, barnyard. Taste is heavily sour with flavors of lemon, cherries and hay. Light body, thin feel, fizzy, long sour finish that sticks to the tongue. Not my type of beer but I appreciate the craftmanship.

I agree that this one is hard to finish, and I even shared with several other people. Some commented that the flavor "grows on you," which I agree with, but I find some other Lambics more interesting.

Nice pour, looked a nice pinkish red in the glass, slight head which didn’t stay too long, the aroma is nice and sour with the cherries being very prominent, heavily sour, overall a fantastic Belgian Cherry Sour Ale, glad I still have some more!!
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Belgik (72) - Sterrebeek, BELGIUM - FEB 1, 2002
Upon pouring, the foam itself is pink! It rapidly fades to nought. The brew is a cloudy very crimson red, and there are fine bubbles adding life to it all.
Elegant aroma of gueuze, at first the cherry aroma is strangely lacking, then cherry-pit aroma, and finally, when warmed-up a bit from initially too cold, the cherries are there!
Puckery dry and tannic meagre gueuze/lambiek flavor, not very much cherry there, really. The whole is very sour and rather thin, I like a bit more body. My wife says, and I agree ’lacking in charm’.
A difficult one, but there is no doubt that this kriek has the merit of being an authentic lambiek product, without the slightest concession to the perhaps more marketable adding of sweeteners, which -in my view- would render the excercise totally pointless.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Dunbar72 (65) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - FEB 11, 2011
Bottle 37.5cl, bought in Sweden 110210. Pours hazy red with a large, fairly compact head. The aroma is pretty sweet with lot’s of cherry, some fermentet juice and root cellar. The flavour is much more sour than the aroma, dominated by cherry, root cellar, grape and hay. A very dry, bitter finish that stays forever. My guess is that this bottle was very young. I remember it as more complex with less cherry in it. A nice beer anyhow!
4.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20 RD400F (65) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 9, 2011
UPDATED: DEC 27, 2011 My first Lambic...beer into Trappistes Rochefort glass...NOT the chalice. I don’t know what glass it is...anyway.
Aroma: Wine, vinegar, latex gloves, grass and cherries. Quite "synthetic", phenolic and sulfury.
Appearance: Looks fantastic, hazy sparkling red color, very thin pinkish white head that leaves quick. Bubbles rising quickly from the bottom too.
Taste: Quite sour, reminiscent of vinegar but it’s tolerable and very, very interesting. Hint of cherries and there is a slight sweetness. It does have a weird synthetic latex taste to it, which is kinda off putting.
Palate: Mouth puckering, thin and light. Quite a dry, acidic finish.
Overall: This is one interesting beer that I will be picking up again sometime. I find it very amusing and quite refreshing in a different way and oddly enough quite enjoyable. Goes absolutely fantastic with monterey jack cheese, ham, french bread and dill pickles...really brings out the flavours from everything. I absolutely adore this beer.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 tquest (61) - Ghent, BELGIUM - OCT 5, 2011
Pours out with a nice deep red color and a red head. I tried this one again after I head that is was brewed this time with ’Noorderkrieken’, an experiment from Jean. So this time it was more fruity, which I do like in a fruit beer, and less lambic taste. More fruite, but not more sweet, very nice cherry taste and a bit sour, it was very well balanced.

The nose has a strong funk straight from the bottle. Once it opens up it has nuances of cherry skin and or red fruit skins. The flavor is very sharp cherries and cherry skins, like when you can’t wait for them to ripen in the sun. This a subtle sweetness at first but quickly vanishes to a sharp tartness.

Very active bubbles, light red and no head. aroma of apples and vinegar. Tart at first, citrus fruit comes at the back of the mouth and the whole flavour lingers impressively. Palate is chewy very drinkable.
