Pretty enjoyable in small sips. shp555 (1216), lilburn, Georgia, USA May 10, 2008 Pours a hazy red color with a white head. Aroma is musty, funk, sweat, and brett. Pours reddish brown with a thin head. Very strong aroma of sour cherry and vinegar. Very sour and acidic flavor. This sample was slightly medicinal and not enjoyable. RollinHard (466), Fort Worth, Texas, USA May 5, 2008 Pours a rose tinted brownish red with an ultimately dissipating pink head. Aroma is pretty intense with hay, wood, mustard, and a real nice cherry scent. The cherry makes the aroma really balanced compared to other sours I’ve had. Not sweet, but the earthy sourness is balanced with fruit. An old dusty smell seems to be there. Flavor is very tart, with wood, vinegar, mustard, grass, a little bit of cherry but there’s nothing sweet or balancing about it. Finishes with a lingering woody tartness on the throat, still glueing my tongue to the roof of my mouth. Not as dry as expected. Very drinkable beer though, average mouthfeel is pretty light and neither creamy nor overly slick. Pretty good, but a bit less interesting than Lou Pepe. It’s more lambic experience for me, which I still need.
