LOU PEPE 1999: Ruby red color. I pretty much agree that it does taste like red cherry vinger. Sour, tart, sour.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Kåstå (1221) - Mol, BELGIUM - AUG 16, 2002
Golden red, clear lambic with a medium head. Immediate sulphur compound aroma which luckily dissappeared fairly quickly. Very sour. The taste is much more geuze than lambic. Could not really get any kriek flavour.

After the beer was served in the glass there was found a lasting quantity not wall adhesive light red foam collar which was fine and evenly of structure. The beer also contained no carbonic acid in the glass.
The beer has a clear red color and a sweet taste. The after tast of the beer is light hoppy bitter with a fruity touch. This beer smells to light acid.

Bottle. Surprisingly high white head. Hazy red body. Week cherry aroma. The acidity is very dominant so the cherries can hardly be tasted.

Cherry red, big surprise, in color. Tastes like an incrediblly acidic cabernet franc. Felt like drinking a science project. Not for me.

Their '02 offering. $8.75 for a 375 ml bottle. A cloudy brick red color with a tiny speck of a pink head. Smells like cherries left to rot in a woden barrel behind a farm. As disgusting as it sounds, has a bit of urine scent. Wow, talk about pucker power. Tart as can be, with some cherry pit and sourgrass flavors. Hard to get much anything else than sour from this. Unusual scent, great look and decent mouthfeel but just to damned tart for me. Is there a Kriek somewhere between this and the sweet Belle-Vue?

While I am sure that this is very complex and interesting, I just dont like it. It is cloudy red with no head. THe nose is sharp and mediciney with a kick of sour cherrys. The taste is very cherry and tart. The body is thin and uneventful. This not very easily drinkable and that is the biggest reason why I dont like the stuff. Compare it to New glarus belgan red, that stuff you can suck on constatly and get somewhere. This you can not.
2.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Scubatrip (559) - Annandale, Virginia, USA - APR 10, 2006
From the bottle, pours a murky reddish brown. Looks like a bloody mary. No head to speak of. Smells very fruity and sour, with the aroma of alcohol present as well. Very strong taste, almost overwhelming. Definite alcohol, with some sour notes of black cherries and other berries. Also very sour, makes my mouth pucker. I can’t give this a great overall rating because it was just too sour for me, but I can understand why fans of lambics would rate this pretty highly.

This was terrible. The aroma was of a cherry jolly rancher, look of watermellon Kool-Aid (no head), and taste was mouth puckering. Avoid this beer!!!
