A high density lambic, think of it as a Gueuze/Barley Wine.

The worst beer I tried at Festival 2013, the low carbonation, heavy alcohol presence, weird sweetness, and barely apparent lambic quality made me really hate this beer. Ugh, why Jean why?!?

Clear brown color (easy light penetration). Nose of cheese, oak, raisin. Very sour, light mouthfeel for a barleywine. Very interesting beer from cantillon. Thanks DJ!

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with small off white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is raisin, sherry, wood, funk. Thin mouth, dark fruit, oak, funk, nice tartness, vinous, very good.

Glass @ Cantillon 20160505. Fruity and caramely with dark fruits, alcohol, the finish is dry and sweet.

Bottle @ cantillon brussels. Pours dark orange colour beer with a small head. Feels like a barleywine style lambic with notes of dried fruit and alcohol. Dry finish

Not a fan of this. It’s a bit like a barleywine style lambic, and tastes just like that sounds. It has a medium mouthfeel and the nose is sour lambic notes with some strange barleywine characteristics. I had it fresh and then again recently and unfortunately there hasn’t been any improvement. But the experimentation is fantastic.

Voluminös herber Antrunk. Etwas dumpf, geringe Würzigkeit. Moderat spritzig, mild würzig. 9/8/7/7//8

(draught) hazy deep amber colour with a small frothy off-white head. aroma of white bread, yeast and shrivelled walnuts, with some distinct notes of apricot yoghurt, grass, pear and balsamic vinegar. flavour is heavy dried apricots, some ethanol and bread dough, with a faint hint of strawberries, some almonds and a medium-dry tannic finish. heavy-bodied with soft carbonation.

At the brewery. Dark orange color with small white head. Aroma is toffee, caramel, not much funk. Taste is toffee, caramel, there’s the sourness coming in, sweet-sour finish. No carbonation, full-bodied. Faro on steroids, I’d say. Much better than most Faros, though, since the sweetness doesn’t feel set up.

Glass at Cantillon. Very nice aroma of barnyard, grapes. Like nice Lambic. Taste is light sour and light sweet. Citric and vineuos but with high level of alcohol. Pretty empty for the level of alcohol.

Glass at the brewery. Poured maybe a bit darker shade of pale, to really amber but into that direction. Aroma had some booze with prickly bitter funky spots. Tasted warming, still lambic but much higher density. Not really that sour, some sweetness left, I guess you can’t really get the ABV up without that. Super interesting brew, was lucky to try it.
