0.75 l bottle (vintage 1998) at Akkurat, Stockholm. Slightly hazy golden orange color. Tart and perfumed aroma with grapefruit and black currant. Dry grapefruity, lemony, black curranty and bready flavor. Softer mouthfeel and less acidity than in standard cantillon gueuze. Dry, but not in a typical hardcore Cantillon way. Excellent!

(Bottle 75 cl) Hazy amber golden with a small, off-white head. Soft and not overly sour aroma. Medium body with a low carbonation and an almost soft mouthfeel - not really typical for Cantillon! Plenty of horse blanket accents but surprisingly accessible for a Cantillon. 061008

25 oz bottle, bottled 1998, via hopdog. Pours a hazy orangish gold body with a small fizzy white head. Not really any visible carbonation, but you can tell from the pour that this is not completely still. Big funky cheesy and cobweb funkiness with hay and grassiness, pixie stick like sweetness, and a grapefruity tartness on the nose. Bracingly acidic at first, but as you drink you get accustomed to it letting the wonderful dusty cobweb cellar funkiness shine through. Little bit of cork, wood, and sour cheesey flavors. Bone dry on the finish. Tight puckering mouthfeel with very fine slightly prickly carbonation. Much more active than I was expecting. This was just great. 10 years old and still amazing.

Bottle 750ml. [ My Rating #5000 ]
Bottled in 1998. [ Courtesy of Hildigöltur (Jacob)]. Unclear medium orange color with a small to average, frothy almost creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy hoppy, grapefruit, citrus tart, moderate to light heavy yeasty, barnyard, sour, tart, woody. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet, acidic and bitter with a long duration, and a dry dry finish. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is flat to soft. Wow, what a beer ! ;o)) (050908)

A huge thanks to badgerben for this. A cloudy orange color with a hugely sour aroma. Almost overwhelmingly sour, the body was still smooth.

Bottled@Akkurat. Orangeish golden colour with minor head. Aroma is acidic and sour wood with some mild notes of sour fruits. Flavour is dry acidic and sour with some mild yeast, wood and also mildly bluecheesy notes. Long sour wooden aftertaste. Really mouthdrying. Still a bit smoother than many other Cantillons.

Golden-orange in colour with a very quickly dissipating white coloured head, no lacing. The aroma is very acidic with noticable citrus, sharp with the usual Cantillon funk. The flavour is very acidc and tart, insanely sharp, light much, some cheese and quite funky. Acidic mouthfeel, medium/light body, medium/light carbonaton. Finishes long, very acidic and funky.

There wasn’t a whole lot of carbonation in this bottle but that didn’t seem to hamper anything. A very assertive lambic from Cantillon.

750ml bottle obtained in a trade with Crosling, thanks Nick.
Opened on March 29, 2008.
Vintage 1998.

Bottle @ Bier Circus. Hazy golden with medium off white head. Sour aroma with barnyard, wood and horseblanket notes. Sour flavor with grapefruit, barnyard and woody notes. Ends sour. Lovely!
