4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 ggaughan (99) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, LUXEMBOURG - OCT 4, 2009
1998 vintage shared at Akkrat with kkearn. Beer poured a cloudy golden, amberish color with a strong head with active carbonation. Still strong after a decade in the bottle. No longer a lazy gueuze! Nose was sharp, very tart with some wood and citrus notes. Taste is tart but not overpowering and actually was very pleasant with lemon, banana and earthy notes that just work to make a fantastic beer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 yousee (48) - BELGIUM - FEB 20, 2005
UPDATED: MAY 20, 2007 Hazy orange colored beer. There is a nose of wood, sourness, tangerine, lemon and pepper. This Gueuze is softer, drier and rounder than the ordinary.
4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20 afrantzell (39) - The Court of the Crimson King, California, USA - JUL 31, 2010
Bottled in 1998.
It rests tanned, bronzed, and svelte in the glass, reeking of wood and horse fetor. Tastes like oak staves, shepherds’ crooks, and Belgian balustrades. Lemon juice in the finish, which is sharp and drying.
Speaking of finishing, this did carbonate. It has a pleasantly hefty mouthfeel. As the bottle warms, some vanilla and brown sugar fade in. An ineffably good gueuze.
4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 Maltzilla (34) - Florida, USA - OCT 20, 2010
LCBS 10, Day 2. This is now, honestly, one of my all-time favorite sours. Very complex flavor and nose to it. Nose is full of barnyard funk, earth and leather. The front palate is attacked with a good measure of fruit tartness and followed by citrus notes, some green apple to it too . . . and here comes the horse blanket!
