LCBS 2010. Diego’s surprise beer, and wow what a great one. Gold/orange pour. Tons of awesome fruity funk in this one. Some hay and barnyard aroma, tart apples. Flavor is fruity and fun. Lots of funky goodness, some decent tartness. Apples, light dryness. Awesome stuff. Thanks Diego. You are the man.

Like Dickinson, I stumbled across this phenominal brew at the Maproom. Hazy deep autumn gold pour with a medium cap of bubbly white head. Phenominal nose... deep, rustic, funky sour barn, moldy, well-aged cheese, tart lemons, cedar, and vinegar... almost tart enough to burn through the nose hairs. Sour, puckering lemon at the forefront... not really letting its guard down the whole way... cobwebby yeast gave way to old horseblanket, cheese, and wet cedar. So much going on with no perceptible faults. Powerfully tart, sour, funky, and engaging... enjoyed every second of the stomach erosion! Refreshing.

2008-03-04. Lightly hazy amber body, thin off-white head. Aroma is musty, light yeasty funk, notes of straw and dried grass. (7+) Flavour ranges from light refreshing sourness up front that builds as a wave across the tongue crashing into a full blown tsunami of mouth puckering Cantillon sourness when it reaches the back of the mouth. Minor notes of lemon seeds, very muted fruit acidity that becomes more noticeable as you drink through the bottle and become acclimatized to the sourness. (Nirvana just came over the stereo... hmmm) Fairly still, average palate seems fairly standard for lambics. Its no Girardin Black Label, but its rather nice. Bottle at Bier Circus, Brussels

Bottle@Plan B, Copenhagen. Classic Cantillon sourness, but it does feel a little less sour and a bit more approachable. An easy drinking Cantillon, with farmyardy characters and citrus rind. Loved every second of it. Yum.

Bottle: Pale yellow, light white head and lacing. Nose of tart barny notes, dry, sour, funky! The flavor is vinous, a bit too sour, light sweetness but overbearingly dry. Drinkable compared to the Kriek, but I’m just a bit sensitive to bile tonight.

ygtbsm84 has been talking about this one for years, so I just had to seek it out. It was worth the effort. Cloudy golden color, plenty of carbonation. Aroma of cobwebs, dust, pepper, summer fruit. Taste was dry and powdery, dried grapefruit, dried peach, pepper. Great stuff.

Sweet and sour, white grape, citrus, grassy nose. Gooseberry comes to my mind, very tart but at the same time very clean. Hard to create such equilibrium but it was archived here. Good lambic.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Cornfield (5277) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - JUL 8, 2005
Pale yellow with a slender-but-lacing head, the aroma is vinuous leaning towards vinegary. The taste is tart and citrusy with a bit of old hay, barnyard funkiness. It’s got a long dry finish. Not bad.

Dr. Bill tasting, Toronado, Feb 2005.
Head is mostly diminishing.
Body is hazy medium yellow, bottle conditioned(?).
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly yeasty (barnyard, cobwebs), with notes of lemon, cask wood, and sour apple.
Flavor is moderately sweet, heavily acidic.
Finish is lightly sweet, heavily acidic, lightly bitter.
Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Enjoyable, but didn’t really excite me too much.
