2001 bottle courtesy of guerde and shared at the 7/5/08 Bocky Bash locals tasting. Pours a cloudy cranberry with white head. Nose is funk, vinegar and cherries. Taste is sour cherries, lemon juice, funk, balsamic vinegar and aspirin. Prickly, medium mouth feel. Very good – thanks Andy!

75 cL bottle. Pours hazy golden red with a huge pink head - slowly diminishing to nothing. Aroma is dry cherries with a note of the classic Cantillon barnyard dryness. Light almond note too. Flavou is solid acidic with a stringent sulphorish note to a dry yet fruity cherry flavour. Reveals almond like note into the far finish.

Review from 2006. Bottle from 1999. Nice red color with a pink-ish head that dissipated leaving only a ring around the glass. Smell was certainly sour, had some barnyard funk and very tart cherries; I have not seemed to care for other beers with some of these characteristics, but this one is very nice. Taste is much of the same, but its just put together so well that I can’t help but love it. Light bodied, but thankfully not bone dry; carbonation was light-medium. This was definitely a joy to drink, I think I’ll be searching out more Cantillon; hopefully they can match up with this one.

Light pink pour with a bubbly effervescence. Very enjoyable lambic but not as sour as some of the others by cantillion.

The most beautiful beer. Deep clear ruby color with a little pink head to go along. The ever amazing geuze flavors of horsestble, hayloft and barnyard is complementes with cinnamon, clove, pepper, cherries and a complexity that keeps my nose in the glass forever. The taste completes the experience with matchin sourness and I want more

Thanks to, uh, me for sharing. Perfect cloudy cherry red body with a great pink head (that’s what she said..). The smell is of fantastic fresh cherries with great funk, sour, and sweet notes. Nice honey, bright dry hops, a slight mineral/iron note, and a strong vinegar tone. The taste is super dry, very acetic, fantastically funky and super sour. Cherries, raspberries, sulfur, mineral, vinegar, cranberries, bread, and an almost gingery, cinnamon spiciness. The irony aftertaste lingers for hours, and I love it. Oak, rubber, and barnyard notes appear as it warms. This is almost exactly what a kriek should taste like.
