COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fresh sour cherries (krieken) in two year old Lambiek. We use approximately 300 gr cherries for 1 liter Kriek. The second fermentation in the bottle is obtained through addition of a liqueur, made with beer and saccharose.

2007 Sticker @ post-GABF party. Very sour, very cherry, very, very good. Iíll be chasing that dragon again for a long time... well, at least until the 2011 bottle matures.

Bottle 2007 sticker bottled September 04 2009. I purchased this off the shelf 5 years ago back when you could just buy them. Pour has a rich red color and a fat one finger pink head that held very well. Aroma has mild cherry, light acidity, some fruit skin, funky touches, and a fair bit of jam for a beer aged this long. Mouth feel is medium and carbonation plenty strong. Flavor is where the cherry starts to pop, nice dry acidity, mild funk, cherry skins, dryness from the barrels, and a lingering jammy finish. This has aged better than I would have hoped for and is a fantastic treat.

Poured 2011 from bottle to glass. Blood red hue with fizzy pinkish red hue. Aroma is jammy, cherry, lactic, slight peppercorn, straw. Mouthfeel is great with a medium light body and crisp carbonation. Taste is dry sweetness followed by a tart following that extends through the finish. Overall this is a great brew.

750 ml bottle. 2008 vintage. From some web store long time ago.
Dark ruby red colour with a small pinkish white head. Cherries, sourness, acidity, vinegar and some red berries in the aroma. The flavour is dry red berries, cherries, tartness, sourness and mild acidity. Rather drinkable for a such sour and acidic brew. Tasty.

(On tap at Akkurat, Oct 14 2014) Pours a nearly opaque intense deep reddish pink with a moderate pale pink head and no lace. Aroma has a huge whack of cherry, a slight cheesiness, musty moist barnyard sort of character, a little woody but not overpoweringly so, and not too sour. Oh,, did I mention tart cherry? On the palate, another huge whack of tart cherry begins things, light lemony acidity, fading into a moderately bitter, lightly woody and barely musty finish. Dry, lightly tannic feel to the aftertaste with nice lingering fruit tartness. Medium bodied with a little chewiness and effervescent carb. Words donít describe this. The fruit character, feel and balance is almost off the map of typical kriek, and it is an amazing beer period.

2007 bottle - How can a 7 year old bottle hold so many fruit notes? Dark cherry pour with tons of fruit and funky barnyardness (yes that is a word). Shit tons of super tart cherries and mouth puckering tartness without an overwhelming amount of acidity. Long dry finish. Great stuff
