COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fresh sour cherries (krieken) in two year old Lambiek. We use approximately 300 gr cherries for 1 liter Kriek. The second fermentation in the bottle is obtained through addition of a liqueur, made with beer and saccharose.

2008 "vintage" into tulip. Aroma: Very sweet/sour cherries, vinegar, slightly latexy, swedish berries candy, wheat, flower bouquet...more complex than usual. Appearance: Slightly hazy maroon color with a reddish head. Taste: Quite sweet in comparison to the normal Kriek and a little less complex and wild. I think I prefer the other one for character but this has mellowed out considerably. Palate: A little mouth-puckering but nothing horrible. Quite a heavy feel in the mouth, spritzy CO2. Overall: A very interesting Lambic but a little too mellow for me. However, it is still very, very good. I wonder how a 10 year old bottle must taste....

Bottle. Dark ruby with a thick pinkish head. Dominated by sour cherry, very natural tasting and not too jammy. Musty funk present throughout. Fairly acidic but not overwhelming. Nice full body. Excellent.

(Cantillon Lou Pepe Pure Kriek) Bottle 750 ml at home, vintage 2009, served into a Cantillon taster, ABV 5% Deep and bright red colour on a clear body, one finger of pinkish head with good retention, minimal lacing on the glass. Aroma of cherries, cork, wood, light musk, smells pretty good! Tastes great too, lots of cherries, light wood, nice funky character, little musk, slightly sour. Medium thin body with good carbonatiion, just a bit tart on the palate. Just great!

Bottle thanks to Bruce, 2012 in 2015. Pours a deep purple, pinkish head. Aroma is raspberry, cherry, funky barnyard, lacto, oak, cedar, manure. Flavor is cherry warhead, oak, light vinegar, berries, sour fruits. So so smooth yet complex, ridiculous beer. 2012

Bottled 08.28.14. Poured from a 750ml bottle into a wine glass on 04.21.15. A: Overripe sour cherries, ripe cherries, farmhouse funk, and sugar. A: 1 finger foamy light red head that stays. Hazy ruby red body with champagne-like bubbles streaming from the bottom of the glass. T: Cherry pit woodiness, overripe cherries, underripe cherries, and a back end tartness dominate. Green stem, slight brown sugar (back end) and a yeasty farmhouse funk (back end) are subtle. P: Creamy smooth. Somewhat astringent with stickiness on the teeth. O: This was my first time trying this. It apparently caused a ruckus at my local bottle shop which I won’t name to avoid them being swamped again. Needless to say, it’s hard to find anything from Cantillon in the western U.S. Onto my humble thoughts. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. It was not icky sweet like what must be artificially sweetened lambics. This was incredibly balanced. The sweetness was there, but the complexity was the shining part. The smoothness was first, then woodiness, overripe cherries, brown sugar, green stem, tart cherries, and funk on the back. I wouldn’t move mountains to have this again, but it was a nice experience.

Bottle to glass at Chez Moeder Lambicus. Pours a beautiful ruby red color with a fizzy pinkish white head. Aroma is dry, mild tart, cherry. Flavor has a much bigger sour cherry that lingers into the finish. Lovely
