Bottle - Light hazy deep golden body with a large white head; Excellent nose the warmer sharper Bourbon aromas fits the Geuze fruits very well; Excellent body, smooth, soft with a very crisp carbonation, balanced and pleasant; Sour arrives with the finish, a little to oak tannic. Very very good!

1 one 192 bottles... this was outstanding, the bourbon came exceptionally in the taste and aroma, never had a sour quite like it, one of my favorites

Bottle at the DC Lambic & Sour Tasting on April 14, 2012. Served in a Cantillon wine glass. Pours a clear golden color with a small head and some sparse lacing on the way down. The nose brings forward a moderate amount of funk and light acidity behind a pretty good dosing of whiskey and heavy oak. A bit of a heavy touch on the barrel for my liking, though the background is clearly nice and I could get into the concept if there was a bit more balance. Long flavor with moderate acidity and medium funk. Light body with average-to-fizzy carbonation and a dry, slightly tannic finish. Not my favorite of the lineup, though I think it was just personal preference for less whiskey/oak and more lambic, as others enjoyed this quite a bit more than I did. Still, I can’t say I’ll complain about finally trying it!

UPDATED: OCT 25, 2011 (Rating #7,000) Bottle… This beer rocks!… Cloudy golden ale with no head. The aroma is very woody, fruity and acidic. A bundle of raw oak intermingles nicely with under-ripe apricot and subtle graham. Medium-bodied and creamy with soft carbonation. The flavor is quite fruity, mildly sour and lightly malty – lemon, apricot, raw oak and toffee are standouts. Finishes tart with yet another kiss of raw oak. The wood and lively acidity play major roles in my enjoyment of this wonderful beer. The bourbon barrel has really added instead of muddling or detracting here. Incredible surprise. Big-time thanks to 50belair for sharing this world class rarity!

Bottle, shared by Matt (50Belair) holy shit. One whiff of this is a transformative experience, it’s unbelievably enticing, evocative, and addictive. I would never have known that this was in a bourbon barrel, and the thought of putting lambic in there seems totally weird and foreign to me but something good happened here. There is some unique spice, like cedar, in the aroma. And in both the aromas and flavors some interesting deep smokey flavors come out, and I almost detect chili of all things. The bitter ending is deep and satisfying. Super complex with lots of deep dark wood like cherry wood. This bottle is too damn small, seriously, that is cruelty.

Bottle courtesy of my Norwegian friend. Clear golden yellow pour with a big white head. Sour apricot, light funk, and oak aromas. The is very tasty and uber smooth with tart citrus, lemon, mild funk, and oaky notes. The bourbon is totally hidden in this delicious lambic. I was really looking forward to trying this Cantillon gem and it did not disappoint....

375 ml bottle. Finland.
Cloudy golden colour with small to average size bubbly white head. Sour and tart berry aroma with sweet toffee and vanilla. Flavour is nice combination of Lambic sourness and tartness and caramel and fudge sweetness. Balanced. Much easier than some other Cantillons.

UPDATED: JUL 17, 2011 Ultra effervescent gold body, thin moderate bubbled white head that surprisingly lasts. Strong oak and vanilla sweetness in the nose, the whiskey clearly defined here and blending well, masking any brett and leaving a wonderful dose of lactic sourness underneath. Flavor is oaky and lightly acetic, the vanilla from the barrel and lactic sourness blending very well. The result is a thick, soft sour beer with ample dry oak, vanilla sweetness, and a hint of dust. Unique, incredibly drinkable, and delicious, but way sweeter than your typical lambic.
