Peach color lambic with minimal head. In the nose, there is fruit with wood and lambic notes. An extremely sour lambic.

75cl, Vintage 2005, retired exclusive brew, with muscat grapes, thx alot to Kristian and Udo for sharing!, very complex sour fruit brew, sour/fruity and slightly woody/vinous, very balanced, cloudy, nearly no head, top class!

Last bottle @ Akkurat. Elegant and complex with the standard gueuze flavors of lemon and barnyard receiving additions from the wonderful grapes with notes of apricot and raisins. Not as complex as Menu Pineau but still wonderful, too bad it’s gone.

Sampled at Akkurat with Joe and Chris, 2012. Pours a hazy golden yellowish hue from our lambic basket into a tumbler. Active carbonation, moderate head retention and sweet dusty grape aroma for miles. This was like "Lou Pepe Vignerrone" in a way, a more heavily dosed version perhaps than the standard Muscat offering. Long, bracing acidity with residual sweetness and extremely dry grapeskin presence. A treat I wish I could have again and again, sadly these couple bottles were likely to be the last I’d ever try. Definitely a tough act for Reed Pinot to follow!

75cl bottle at Akkurat. Not on the list. It pours a hazy golden colour with a medium white head. Aroma is full on vinous notes with acidic notes and light funk. Lots of white grapes and musk. Taste is big sour funk just partly mellowed by the grapes sweetness. Woody, musky, zesty notes in a long dry finish. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Overall, very good, even beyond expectations.

Returning to europe backlist. Bottle at akkurat. Golden pour with no head, the bottle opening had no pop. Grape/wine coupled with tart and funky aromas. Flavor follow with some wine, citrus and funky tones, and some acidic tones. Finishes smooth but has some acid tones.

The "F**k Yo Passport" Tasting. 750ml bottle into Cantillon taster.

Pours hazy orange, white thin head, wisps here and there. Funky with a nice vinous and citrus quality, berries. Flavor is also outstanding...lots of grape notes, straw, lemon rind. Light body, good carbonation, dry finish.

The Reed’s far exceeded my expectations and this beer is truly a gem.

Last bottle @ Akkurat. They’re now officially out. Amazing beer! So good grapes really beautifully blending into the sourness.

750mL bottle at Akkurat, pours a fairly clear golden with a tiny, quickly-dissipating white head - looks flat after the head settles. Aroma is quite dusty and vinous, with moderate funk, dusty grapes, horse blanket and hay. Flavour is unlike anything I’ve ever had before, with notes of berries, perfume, grape skins, and some fresh meadow notes. Quite high acidity, with tart grape skins on the finish. The transition of flavours is quite something -- starting with the perfume and flowers, and ending with very sour grape skins and high acidity. Gets better and better the more you drink, with the gueuze qualities coming out more. Certainly a elegant beer and surely one of Cantillon’s best. Excellent stuff.

In short: An intense blond lambic of amazing complexity.
How: Bottle 750ml at Akkurat, Stockholm.
The look: Cloudy dark blonde body topped by a large white head with low retention.
In long: Bottle opens with a big healthy ‘pop’. Nose is quite something, old farmhouse, earthy groundcherries, wild countryside flowers, grape skin, mild funk. Taste has all the elements of the aroma (earthy groundcherries, wild countryside flowers, grape skin, mild funk) and then adds lemon zest, pineapples, must, horse blanket. Acidity and sourness levels are pretty high, even by Cantillon standards, you need a high tolerance to lactic acid to drink a full bottle in one hour like I did. Bone dry finish, even a bit dusty. This is one of the few rar Cantiloons that stands up in quality with the regular Cantillons, and even surpasses most of them. Probably in my top-5 Cantillon offering so far, just as excellent if not better than the likes of Foufounes, regular Gueuze, LP Kriek, Rosé de Gambrinus and my other favorite Cantillons. If it was a little less citric it would probably be my favorite Cantillon ever. I was heartbroken when my bottle was empty, actually not sure heartbroken is the right word, what do we call a heart that has difficulties pumping blood because the arteries have been damaged by years of excessive alcohol consumption?
