4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Ungstrup (23960) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - MAY 3, 2007
Bottled. An unclear orange beer with no head. The aroma is sweet and sour with notes of oranges, muscat, wine grapes, and some straw. The flavor is quite sour with strong notes of muscat and grapefruit, combined with a dutsty hoppy note. Sampled this deep down in the cellar of Akkurat October 2005, graciously served by the bars owner Sten - thank you so much!!

Pours hazy orange. Grapey, fruity aroma with wood, nettles, star fruit and some citrusy hints. Medium to full acid and sour nose with a light sweetness. Light sweet and full acid flavour with grapes, wood and citrus. Dry, tart finish. Medium to full body. Deep, complex and wonderful.
4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 harrisoni (10070) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - AUG 18, 2006
75cl bottle from Omhper tasted at White Horse, Parson’s Green. Thanks a lot for this one Per. Hazy copper with quickly disappearing head. Sour and woody, but not extreme. This is softer, more balanced than some Cantillon beers. Some tangerine with the normal lemon. Lovely aroma. Not harsh. Sour in mouth, with a grapey flavour. Still sour, but has sweetish grape juice flavour. Good length on finish.
4.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 radiomgb (2078) - Peterborough, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 28, 2006
750ml bottle at the <a
href=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/sweden/s target=blank>Akkurat in Stockholm, Sweden. Hazy golden-orange in colour, pours headless. The aroma is of grapes - both red and green - pineapples, mildly acidic, sweet tropical fruit sugars. The flavour is of citrus (blood oranges, lemons, some grapefruit), pineapple, grapes, acidic but not the typical Cantillon acidity, sour and tart. Dry mouthfeel, medium body, medium/high carbonation. Finishes dry and lingering, sour with lots of acidic fruits. Amazing aroma, my second favorite Cantillon after the Soleil de Minuit. A stunning classic.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 oh6gdx (16047) - Vasa, FINLAND - JUN 19, 2006
Bottled. Yellowish orange colour, small white head. Aroma of nuts, cantillonish sourness, fruits and actually a bit yeasty too. Flavour is mainly the typical cantillonish, but also has a lot of "wineish" notes as well as fruits and nuts. Very wellbalanced, and the alcohol is not making it’s way so strongly. Still, a 0,75l bottle is quite hard to drink with a 7.5% beer...
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 MrWalker (926) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUN 8, 2006
Bottle @ Akkurat, Stockholm 24 May 2006 Apricot. Muscat grapes. Tropical fruits. oak barrel. Acidness. Cantillon taste is not so prominent as it usually is. Bood balance of wine/lamic. Soft. Some tobacco in the aftertaste. One of the best new Cantillons.
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 ante (3375) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAY 21, 2006
Bottle, sampled at Akkurat, Stockholm. A hazy golden liquid topped with a small creamy white lace. Acidic and woody Cantillon aroma along with spices, lemon-rind, honey and grapefruit. Acidic grapefruity and woody flavour, hints of white grapes, iron and lemon. Long acidic and rather vinous aftertaste of grapefruit and the Muscat Grapes. Another outstanding piece from Cantillon/Akkurat/Opitz.
4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Jeppe (2633) - Ølbutikken, DENMARK - MAY 4, 2006
Had this one in the cellar of Akkurat along with ’Cantillon Reed Gueuze Pinot Noir’ and Sten’s own blend ’St. Andrews 2003’. Pours unclear orange and a fine white head. Aroma is Cantillon sour with notes of oj, grain, light spices and grapefruit peel, very full with an extreme complexity. Flavor is tart grapefruity and muscaty with white wine characters and some light spices. Sharp, warming, biding and complex to the bone - amazing!
4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 omhper (15956) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAY 4, 2006
Bottled. Hazy golden. Concentrated oaky muscat grape aroma. The acidity is less hardcore than in the Reed Pinot Noire. Still the trademark Cantillon style citric acidity is definitely there. Upon it lies the concentrated oaky, vinous muscat character and some cobwebs and barnyard. It’s way more directly appealing and aromatic than the Reed Pinot Noire. Perhaps the big flavours makes it slightly less complex, but it’s still absolutely fantastic. I’d give it 11/10 for aroma if I could....
