Bottle at Akkurat. Pours out a dark, clear amber with a touch of white foam that fades to a ring rather quickly. Nose: deep earthy funk, sharp acidic tartness, and some raisins and currants. The currants and earthy funk give this a hint of tea in the nose. Taste - shockingly sour. Acid has overrun the bottle, making it hard to notice anything else. There’s a touch of fruit - again with the currant and tea flavors - stronger than in the aroma. Not a lot of funk. Just bracingly sour. After drinking this bad boy, I had heartburn - a first for me from a sour beer, and I’ve had my fair share. Feel is solid, fairly thick, low carbonation. I’m thrilled to have tried this, but it’s not as good as a number of other bottles available on Akkurat’s holy cellar list.

75cl, Vintage 2005, retired exclusive brew, with red grapes, thx alot to Kristian and Udo for sharing!, very complex sour fruit brew, sour/fruity/woody and slightly vinous, very balanced, cloudy, nearly no head, top class!, ’Very surprised that this sample is still so fruity; both beers aged very well...’

Sampled at Akkurat with Joe and Chris, 2012. Pours deep pink/purple hue into our tumblers from a dog-eared lambic basket..the deep grape aromas hit you almost immediately. Murky appearance, frothy pillowy head and legs for days.. First sip is packed with tannic grapeskin, huge sweetness coupled by a quick punch of acidity. The balance is superb and the fruit integration goes on for (what feels like) forever..This pour can last hours if you want, just sit there and take it all in.. it’s unreal how much fruit can be packed into a beer that’s been aging for as long as this already has. This bottle makes me optimistic about the possibilities of aging fruit lambics, and helped me to realize red grape cantillon is my favorite. Reed Pinot is firmly planted somewhere in my top three alongside Pinot d’Aunis and Don Quijote.

75cl bottle at Akkurat. Not on the list. It pours a muddy ruby color with a thick off white head. Aroma is sweet acidic with red wine and floral notes. Earthy with notes of lemon and pepper. Taste is acidic with some sweetness from the grapes. Nice vinous quality to it with some berry and wood notes. Finishes lemony and dry. Overall, an excellent fruit lambic.

The "F**k Yo Passport" Tasting. 750ml bottle into Cantillon taster.

Pours reddish/orange in color, minimal white head. Tons of pinot, which is surprising and awesome, nice sour notes, oak, and some tannins in there as well. Flavor is a lot of the pinot character, oak, berries, light funk and a medium level of sour. Light body, light carbonation, dry finish.

I preferred this one over the Muscat, but both are equally amazing beers.

Bottle at Akkurat thanks to omhper! 2005 vintage, wonderful orange gold color with a thin quickly dissipating head. Nice mildly sour aroma with a hint of a musty white wine. The taste was very smooth, lightly carbonated, slightly sour but very easy to drink. A subtle geuze, fantastic stuff!

Bottle at Akkurat, Stockholm. After this, only five bottles are available in the world. Somewhat hazy beer, almost no head. Sourish rubber aroma, vinous, woody, grapes, citrus, grape fruit, funky, earthy, raisins, grapefruit, earthy, stable, acidic, hay, floral, dandelions, sweetish, caramel, some horse blanket. Sourish earthy flavor, hay, rubber, föoral, dandelions, grapefruit, lovely to feel the sweet grapes bringing balance to this sour beer. Alcohol is very well hidden. Sourish fruity finish, grapes, earthy notes, hay, citrus, grapefruit, tart, funky notes and some horse blanket. Magic beer.

750mL bottle at Akkurat, pours a hazy dark golden orange with basically no head. Aroma of dry grape skins, medium barnyard funk, dry red wine notes, and some other dry apple skins further back. Flavour is super dry and vinous, with loads of puckeringly dry red wine notes, very dry purple grape skins, and some moderate barnyard funk. Really, really, really dry. Moderately vinegary, with a low-to-medium acidity. Almost as enjoyable to me as the Muscat version.
