COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"It has the colour of onion skin", said a voice behind me. It was Raymond Coumans. He was admiring the colour of the raspberry lambic reflecting in the red copper of the buckets used to empty the barrels. At that time (1986), "Raspberry-Lambic" already was synonymous with a sweet, artificially flavoured beer. This is why we decided to distinguish our beer from the other raspberry beers. Raymond proposed to call it a rosé, dedicated not to Bacchus but to Gambrinus.

The process to make this beer is identical to the one to make Kriek. When young, the Rosé de Gambrinus will still present its full fruity taste. Later on, the lambic taste will become dominant at the expense of the fruit taste.

375ml bottle. Really strong funk smell like most Cantillon’s. Taste similar with some raspberry but more dry than expected. Really interesting and good!

Funk fest bottle share...this is real funky with horsey goat cheese characteristics...added to fruity orange real cherry raspberry flavor. An awesome beer.

Cherry red-orange hue with a fine pink head. Noses of raspberry, wet horse blanket and dark fruits. Brief fizz offers a light body with brief fruity sweetness opening up for acidity and light fruity tartness. Dry lasting finish.

Beautiful deep red color. It really smells of raspberrys. Fruity and fresh taste. The best kind of fruity beer based on wild yeast. The sour base compliments the taste of the raspberries in a supreme way. Craft beer at it?s best

Bottle picked up at the brewery. Bottled on the 8th of March 2012. Ruby red / pinky orange coloured pour with a lasting peach / light pink coloured head. Aroma is raspberry fruit, woody pips, a little spicy pepper and a bit of sharp clean acid. A have had this beer fresh and can say that the fruit character has dropped out a far bit. No vinegar detected. Flavour is composed of crisp tart raspberry, sharp clean sourness and some acid. Palate is crisp, medium body, hint of sweet, sharp acid on the tongue. Spritzy carbonation. Lingering nice tart raspberry fruit and a little wood tannin.

At the brewery in Brussels. First, this isn’t my favorite style of beer. Not a huge fan of the sour. However, this one is very well done. Consistent flavor. The fruit really helps out balancing the sour and dryness of the original lambic

Pours a vibrant light red colour with pink head that leaves a thin ring of lace after 17 seconds. Lots of barnyard and raspberries on the nose with some lactic notes. Quite tart on the palate.

Perfect. While Cantillon’s original lambic is an experience to be had, this is by far my favorite brew. For that matter, my favorite sour. They have mastered the art of fermenting sours out to perfection so there is only a subtle amount of sweetness from the fruit and the perfect sourness from the yeast. Cheers to them!
