"It has the colour of onion skin", said a voice behind me. It was Raymond Coumans. He was admiring the colour of the raspberry lambic reflecting in the red copper of the buckets used to empty the barrels. At that time (1986), "Raspberry-Lambic" already was synonymous with a sweet, artificially flavoured beer. This is why we decided to distinguish our beer from the other raspberry beers. Raymond proposed to call it a rosé, dedicated not to Bacchus but to Gambrinus.

The process to make this beer is identical to the one to make Kriek. When young, the Rosé de Gambrinus will still present its full fruity taste. Later on, the lambic taste will become dominant at the expense of the fruit taste.

Had this some times before, but never neere as good as this one. Even better then lou pepe framboise from last year. Colour is pinky. Sexy. Medium pink lacings. Aroma is intense framboise. Taste is sour, tart. Intense framboise. Tastes maybe more framboise then if you eat them yourself. Batch 20 november 2013 bravo!

Pours dirty red. The nose gives away the berries. Taste is not very sour for a Cantillon brew. Very appreciated, not the best, but very drinkable.

2011 bottle. Aroma: raspberries, lemon and grapefruit, definitely acidic, healthy dose of funk - leaves, damp basement, barnyard. One of the more funky examples I’ve had from Cantillon. Appearance: ruby colored pour, fizzy pink head with pretty good retention, little lacing. Taste: robust acidity without being overwhelming, lemon and grapefruit, nice raspberry character, but fruit is fading and funk is taking the lead. Distinct barnyard and funk going on, damp leaves, somewhat musty, nice complexity. Palate: light-medium body, medium-high carbonation, effervescent, bone dry finish. Overall: great brew - balanced towards the funk at this point, but fruit character still comes through, very complex and interesting.

Bu à la pression en 33cl, bière et mousse rosées, attaque sur la gueuze de cantillon, très amère et acide, l’intérêt génial se trouve en fin de bouche car il y a une énorme et une fantastique attaque sur la framboise, délicieux !

On tap at Cafe Sara. Misty pinkish red golden body with a pink head. Inviting red berries and a hint of marzipan on the nose. Sour grapefruit, raspberies and cherries in the mouth. Refreshing and pleasant. Medium bodied and smooth to drink although it grows a bit in the mouth. The red berries linger. I like and love to think of my bottle stored at home.

Awesome beer. Fresh prickly raspberries hit on first taste. Aromas are all over the place with sour, fresh fruit and some funk. Taste super fresh raspberries and not in a sweet way. The essence of the fruit really shines through. Excellent stuff.

Very young beer. Raspberry presence is still pretty heavy. You could accuse me of hyperbole for the straight 5s...but I disagree.
