COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"It has the colour of onion skin", said a voice behind me. It was Raymond Coumans. He was admiring the colour of the raspberry lambic reflecting in the red copper of the buckets used to empty the barrels. At that time (1986), "Raspberry-Lambic" already was synonymous with a sweet, artificially flavoured beer. This is why we decided to distinguish our beer from the other raspberry beers. Raymond proposed to call it a rosé, dedicated not to Bacchus but to Gambrinus.

The process to make this beer is identical to the one to make Kriek. When young, the Rosé de Gambrinus will still present its full fruity taste. Later on, the lambic taste will become dominant at the expense of the fruit taste.

(On tap @ Akkurat, Dec 29 2014) Pours medium pink red with a small pink tinged white head, stays as a ring with no lace. Aroma dominated by fresh raspberries, acidic undertone, just a touch of wood but not super complex. On the palate, raspberry juice initially, tart but not really sour, some light woodiness from middle on, dried sort of herbal quality in the finish with a very very light Brett funk and oak dryness. Finishes dry with blackberry seed aftertaste. Light palate with pretty light carb. Nice and fresh but not the most developed, complicated or challenging Cantillon by a stretch.

Bottle at home and Keg at Brewdog Edinburgh. Pours pink, sweet flowery raspberry, finish was a little musty on keg.

Bottle at the brewery. Poured a clear dark pink with a frothy broken light pink head. The aroma is yeast, tart raspberry. The flavour is moderate sour with a smooth tart acid fruit palate. Light bodied with average carbonation.

Lovely deep rose red with an ever present foam head. Strong brett funk with a slight raspberry tinges on the nose. The palate is very fruit forward tartness with an almost biting vinegar like acidity. Still very palatable and drinkable.

375ml bottle. Really strong funk smell like most Cantillon’s. Taste similar with some raspberry but more dry than expected. Really interesting and good!

Funk fest bottle share...this is real funky with horsey goat cheese characteristics...added to fruity orange real cherry raspberry flavor. An awesome beer.

Cherry red-orange hue with a fine pink head. Noses of raspberry, wet horse blanket and dark fruits. Brief fizz offers a light body with brief fruity sweetness opening up for acidity and light fruity tartness. Dry lasting finish.
