Commercial Description:
"It has the colour of onion skin", said a voice behind me. It was Raymond Coumans. He was admiring the colour of the raspberry lambic reflecting in the red copper of the buckets used to empty the barrels. At that time (1986), "Raspberry-Lambic" already was synonymous with a sweet, artificially flavoured beer. This is why we decided to distinguish our beer from the other raspberry beers. Raymond proposed to call it a rosé, dedicated not to Bacchus but to Gambrinus.

The process to make this beer is identical to the one to make Kriek. When young, the Rosé de Gambrinus will still present its full fruity taste. Later on, the lambic taste will become dominant at the expense of the fruit taste.

Bottle. Pours a nice rosé colour. Aroma is fresh, sour and fruity. The flavour is quite sour, bit sweet, bit yeasty. Sour dry finish. Great lambic!

Another enjoyable lambic. Pours amber with a tight off-white head with a hint of pink. the aroma is mustier than most Cantillons with tart raspberries, hints of sour grapes and tart cherries. There is an odd earthiness I can’t pin down, but I’ve noticed it in another lambic. Medium / thin body that is ultra-crisp with a medium spicy carbonation bite. The taste has white grape skins, geuze tartness and a mere hint of raspberries. The finish has grainy spice, pepper and vinegar sourness. Lambics keep moving up my list for a favorite style and this one just helps the argument. Thumbs up for this nice fruit lambic.

Nice hazy pink/peach body with good carbonation and a thin pink bubbly head. Enjoyable raspberry aroma with malty and spicy notes. Its sharp fruity taste ends with a long, dry sour finish. Niiiiiice! I liiiiiiiike!

raspberry, cherry, and grape flavors with very dry mouthfeel and fizzy reddish pink head. some sour funky flavor but not crazy funky just moderate in its funk-ness. like sour cherry and overripe raspberry.

Aroma: fantasic, sour, perfect, like a perfect kriek, soapy, sweet, berryish, wonderful. Raspberries, strawberries, wood land strawberry, peach, rowanberry, black currant, earth...funk.
Appearance: dark red, cloudy, light pink head. Beautiful.
Flavour: mmmm, wonderful sourishness, some saltiness is sensible, outright fantastic, almost sweet in it’s full body however dry.
Palate: smooth, but sparkling, dry feeling, fat body but narrow.
