Sour fruity aroma, with some wooden cask touches. Full palate, some sprankling. Finish is little astringent, bitter fruity with a light peppery wooden touch. Dry bitter near the end. The Rose De Gambrinus has the be the most acidic beverage I have ever had to inatake. Try downing a 750 ml and ur gonna find yourself gushing alka seltzer and chewing rolaids all night. Come on Cantillon we expect much better. jimhilt (1672), Bow, New Hampshire, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 3/5 | 1/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Jan 19, 2007 Pours a one finger white head that fades quickly leaving no lace. Cloudy red/amber color. Light carbonation and light-medium bodied. Nose is remarkably like vomit. Starts as sour apples becomes more sour like lemon juice, dry finish; easily the least enjoyed Belgian I have had. 750ml bottle - gift from Vintage Cellars Blacksburg, Va.

Hazy peach, pink-hued head. Tiny streams of carbonation work their way towards the top of the beer. The head disapates rather quickly.
Initially the nose is of fresh raspeberries, before long that disintegrates into an incredibly funky mix of acidity, wild funk and soured milk.
Lactic sourness at first, with straw and subtle hints of raspberries. There’s a component that’s reminiscent of bile and a sort of body-like funk that’s like, well, I know I’m going to catch flack for this, but it has to be said. There’s a distinct taste of pussy here. I simply don’t know how to say it without being crude, I’m sorry. It’s the closest thing to the flavor I can describe. Nicely crisp and acidic.
Finishes sour and fruity. Nicely done. muenster (339), Sevierville, Tennessee, USA

Aroma is very tart, with lots of ripe fruit, and wine-like qualities. Flavor is powerful yet delicate with a blast of tarty sour followed by light notes of raspberry and floral hints. Will re-rate another time and I look forward to doing just that. Page 103 of Michael Jackson’s Great Beer Guide and only 439 out 500 Classic Brews to go. detroiter (958), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 13, 2007 Hmm, what color is this? It looks pink/amber in the glass (a champagne flute) until I lift it to the light. Then it is rusty peach color. There is a thin head of tan/pink foam that dissipates almost immediately.
Initial tart cidery aroma, followed by mild cheese (cheese?) and raspberry. Tart, funky, and acidic in the initial flavor, followed by sour raspberry. Light bodied and mildly effervescent. Quite dry in the finsh. A raspberry cider flavor lingers. ogglethorp (887), Ohio, USA
