JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Nov 22, 2006 12oz bottle from 2002. Clear copper body. White frothy head with a slight pink hue. Aroma is raspberry graced horseblanket, and what I consider to be "Cantillon dry soured concord grape skin". Aroma seems to be wafting off the glass from two feet away, and creates a sour funk in the air. Some dry pepper too. Its all there but not 100% interesting. Sour lambic mixture taste... quick dry finish. Yeasty oak. No too bad. rayg1 (432), Ft. Mill, South Carolina, USA Nov 22, 2006 Aroma is a potent sourness and funk. Pours a dirty orange brown that I had to work at hard to get any sort of head. The taste is bitter but not nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be from the smell. Oak and fruit flavors comeout after the bitterness leaves finishes very clean with a bit of raspberry aftertaste, not bad I’m starting to get in to the lambic style. awaisanen (1279), Irvine, California, USA Nov 10, 2006 From a 750mL Bottle. Murky, apple cider colored pour with a thin layer of white head. Tart aromas of fresh raspberries, some peach and vanilla bean. The fruit aromas dance lightly with the woody, sour funky characters. Light, crisply carbonated mouthfeel. Lots of tartness - concentrated flavors found in the aroma, but much more so. Sour, crisp, woody, earthy berry flavors with a clean, tart finish. rlgk (3377), Vårgårda, Sweden Nov 7, 2006 Deep red color, almost no head. Cherry aroma, woddy, oaky but most of all sour. Cherry flaavor, very sour and sourish, strawberrynotes and maybe with some yeast. Very, very sour finish. boojummy (50), Medford, Massachusetts, USA Oct 26, 2006 As soon as I opened the bottle, I knew that this was intensely sour. That sour-fruity aroma just came pouring out. This beer pours a unique hazy orange-brown with lots of suspended yeast (wild yeasts, or did I just pour badly?). Frothy white head that dissipates quickly. Flavor is the immediate mouth-puckering sourness I was expecting based on the smell. There’s some raspberry flavor and a little alcohol warmth in there, but that’s basically it; no hop flavor, no malt flavor, nothing. Just sour. Body is nice. This would make a good aperitif, but it’s not my idea of a "drinking beer", and I consider myself a fan of sour ales. tomthompson89 (1459), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 22, 2006 ahh Lambic such an odd brew but so intresting and nice once you figure out a true lambicpink with little or no head, tart, spritzy little sweet, lingers a while on your palate again a nice one biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA Oct 19, 2006 Hazy pale pink with little head. Tart and funky, distinct Cantillon aroma with clean raspberries added. Sharp and tart but balanced with some finishing sweetness. Silky body. Excellent raspberry flavor that lingers lighly on the palate. Easily the best framboise I’ve had. gnoff (3560), Göteborg, Sweden Oct 18, 2006 (Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm) Shady red brown color, small white head. Acidic berry of cherry and raspberry scent. Very very acidic sour taste. A slight bit metallic in the aftertaste. Very very nice taste.
