| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Aug 10, 2009 Pours a light red color with a frothy pink head - very feminine looking (I’m okay with that.) Smells... not as fruity as imagined, more like a gueze I think. It’s definitely got the sour, wet hay smell, and the raspberries are there - just subtle. Taste is definitely more raspberry. It’s got a huge sour punch that hits you right in the middle of the tongue. I really like this a lot, probably one of my favorite lambics (though I probably say that more often than I think, ha!) | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Aug 10, 2009 750ml bottled Oct 1 2008. Pours a lovely bright cherry red with a light pink head. Size and retention of head are better than most in this style, I have to say. Aroma shows intense Cantillon funk. Urinal, pee pee, ripe fruit. Cherry and raspberry both present though the fruit is not overpowering. A tart acidity (redundant?) is present in the aroma leading one to believe this will be quite sour. Sweet fresh raspberries more prevalent as this warms. The taste is mildly tart with an acidic mildly lactic finish. Mildly fruity throughout. Dry and somewhat watery. More fruit or more sourness in the flavor would be nice, this does not have much of either. This is good though. I really can’t complain. shp555 (1681), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 10, 2009 Nice appearance with a pink body and a medium pink head what diminishes quickly. Aroma of raspberries, barnyard and vinegar, tart lemonade. The flavor is fruity with raspberries(of course), grapefruit, some vinegar taste. Absolutly correct lambic-framboise one.... | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 10, 2009 Aroma of raspberries and parts unknown (not sure, but is that CFC’s smoldering?), yeast, and floral esters. The appearance is a dark rosy color with a thin pink collar, (the bottle has a surly lad feeling up a strumpy tart. BONUS!!!). The flavor has unique flavors of tart raspberry, both vinuous and sour, almost puckering sour. Some tasty yeasts are also present. The feel is very tart right off, finishing to an ultimate sour that tempers out only after a prolonged time. elihapa (1051), Honolulu, California, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 29, 2009 Cantillon Rose Grambinus 7/28/09 (sampled from bomber at a Wurstkuche tasting. Pours light rose color, with a wispy head. Aroma has fragrant stale raspberries, tart lemonade, farmhouse funk, and sourness. Much sourness, to be quite frank. Palate, though hardly the focus here, is medium bodied and faintly prickly, finishing semi-dry. The flavor of this framboise hits you like a train: heavy tartness/acidity that mellows with raspberry and other berry fruit flavors. Nothing sweet at all about this, which I LOVE. Cantillon has created a bold brew that invokes raspberry essence without any gimmicky or sugary sweetness. Loved this one! madvike (314), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 26, 2009 Bottle - While I’ve tried several gueuzes, I haven’t had a ton of experience with lambics past the syrupy Lindeman’s, so this was something I was looking forward to. I was a bit disappointed, however. It poured nice, a deep amber rose with a small pink head. There wasn’t a lot on the nose--some sour, funky raspberry and lemon, but you had to really get your nose in there. Taste was nice, with sour raspberry and just a little barnyard funk. Finish is all sour grapefruit, though the extreme carbonation makes it a bit hard to taste. Overall I liked it, but I expected trumpets and singing from Cantillon.
