I realize that the price is a bit off-putting for a beer, but something of this quality can’t be made on the cheap. Think of it as buying quality over quantity. The aroma is a bit fruity, like a berry of some kind, along with the usual funkiness associated with a high quality lambic but it’s softer somehow, not quite as in your face. Appearance is a lighter red/pinkish color, nice bubbles, decent head, incredible clarity. Mouthfeel is acidic and stripping. Flavor is sour, yet soft. Sweet and funky and perfectly balanced all the way around. Outstanding. Tmoney99 (4702), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 19, 2006 Corked bottle. Poured reddish amber with a minimal 0ff-white fizzy head that diminished quickly with fair lacing. Moderate sour citrus raspberry aroma. Medium body with a dry texture. Heavy sour flavor with a sour bitter finish that sticky in your mouth. Complex brew but not pleasing to my taste. Svesse (2612), Hässelby, Sweden
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 17, 2006 (Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm) Colour is red, raspberry red to be specific, small pink head. Nose is acidic and harsh with raspberry and some vanilla notes. Taste is acidic and harsh, almost like unripe rhubarb, with fresh raspberry notes. The acidity tends to overshadow the berries, however. Very dry and very refreshing. shadey (1496), Rochester, New York, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 15, 2006 Small bottle shared with friends. This cork took some serious effort to get out. I fought with it for at least 10 minutes. Pink pour with a pinky soapy head of bubbles. Very well carbonated. Aroma is only slightly sour and lightly raspberry. According to the description, this tastes like an older bottle. Aged nicely to allow the sour lambic nature to shine through at the expense of the fruitiness. Good stuff. bager (2121), Copenhagen N, Denmark
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 9, 2006 Bottle. Pours dark golden in colour. A bit sour with notes of vinegar and citrus fruits. Hints of wood and a very very faint hint of smoke. jefcon (998), Arlington, Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 7, 2006 Bottle. Great fermented raspberry aromas are a little sour, without losing their sweetness, either. Some estery aromas, too. Upon tasting, however, there is a sharp, sour, green apple vinuousness with a lambic’s profile. Biting, then full and sour on the palate, with minimal carbonation. zippo01 (16), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 30, 2006 pours a cloudy red, with a thin white head. Has astrong fruit aroma. Kicks you with a sour raspberry taste. overall sour but nice. bmanning (142), Arlington, Virginia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 30, 2006 Pours like a deep straw colored juice - absolutely no head at all. Has an aroma of vinegar, cherries, and rasberries with a hint of citrus and caramel. Extremely tart flavor with hardly any fruit taste, it’s all covered up by the harsh acidic profile. There is a hint of rasberries, but it’s way too sour for my taste. It’s initially slightly sweet and intensly sour, and finishes pretty dry with an earthy quality. You would need a very sweet dessert to go with this beer.
