MAP (1085), Lakewood, Ohio, USA Jul 6, 2005 Bottled in 2003: Really nice light amber haze with no head on it. Aroma is musky, semi-sweet and very organic, flowers and freshly turned earth. Flavor is very tart. It really stongs the tip of my tongue right off, but after more drinks there is a raspberry-ish tart to it. This ends a bit too dry to really get me sold on it, but it is a fine treat regardless. TBone (6678), Pori, Finland Jul 5, 2005 Bottled 37,5cl, vintage 2003
Red-peach color, slightly hazy, no head. Earthy, sour aroma. Medium-bodied. Fruity, very earthy, very dry grapefruit flavor, no sugar at all. Very sour and juicy long aftertaste. Extremely balanced, I like this being more enjoyable than many other Cantillons (although this is bone dry). dm9831 (1167), Monee, Illinois, USA Jul 4, 2005 a perfumey, fruity, multi-vitamin aroma. it poured a cloudy peach, with no head. a mouth filling, kind of grainy flavor with slightest hint of fruit, quicklt turning into a sour afterbite. Tejas (693), Dallas, Texas, USA Jul 3, 2005 cloudy orange. has a little bit of that geuze aroma. head dies rapidly. incredibly tart. have to take small sips to adjust to the tartness. tastes sort of vinegary too. reminds me a little bit of white wine. mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 3, 2005 750mL bottle. 2004 cork. opaque fluorescent red coloured body with a long lasting small white head. complex aroma - tons of funk with just the faintest amount of tart raspberries. flavour starts out with sweet juicy raspberries and wheat characteristics. very tart and flavourful complexity. I just love the drinkability of this concotion and continue to be impressed with Cantillon. Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 2, 2005 (Bottle 75 cl) Pretty pink colour and pink head. Sour nose with only a vague memory of raspberries. Sour, vinegary flavour that completely overpowers the berries - what a shame. Acid all the way through. This is a typical Cantillon tastebud killer - mainly a beer for the masochistic beer drinkers. 160598 lachesis (759), St Idesbald, Belgium Jun 28, 2005 37,5 cl bottle, Bottled in 1992. Hazy pinkish-orange with a slaight warm-pinkish colored head. Aroma is very refreshing and complex. It has hints of sour red fruits, fresh rubarbe, unripe prunes, rosebuts, Egantine (Gratte-cul), pickels and sweet-sour onions. The mouth-attack is very very sour and has a sexy livelyness. It is very crisp and dry with a flowery elegance. Again a nice rubarbe flavour with a nice dosis of sour red berries, lemon and some unripe stonefruits. In the seconde fase the barnyard accents are taking over. Hints of wet wood with touches of fresh roots of barnyard plants. The acidity of this beer is like that of a great dry Grûner Veltliner from the Wachau in Austria (white wine). The acidity goes also wonderwell with the complex minerality of this fine beer. Afthertaste is sour ( a little to sour ) dry and cripy with an complex earthy finish. A Big thanks to Jeppe (Bierkônig). lilannie (383), State College, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 26, 2005 Aroma: roses, some honey, some vinegar, swamp, herbs, and pineapple
Appearance: reddish-orange, small white head, lacing
