Commercial Description:
"It has the colour of onion skin", said a voice behind me. It was Raymond Coumans. He was admiring the colour of the raspberry lambic reflecting in the red copper of the buckets used to empty the barrels. At that time (1986), "Raspberry-Lambic" already was synonymous with a sweet, artificially flavoured beer. This is why we decided to distinguish our beer from the other raspberry beers. Raymond proposed to call it a rosé, dedicated not to Bacchus but to Gambrinus.

The process to make this beer is identical to the one to make Kriek. When young, the Rosé de Gambrinus will still present its full fruity taste. Later on, the lambic taste will become dominant at the expense of the fruit taste.

First the wonderfull aromas are very strong when the bottle got opened. Pours a wonderfull bright red color and slightly hazy with a light pink head. Aromas are fruity, floral and hoppy. The flavors are sour fruits, with mostly rasberry and hops, not sweet but sour bitterness. Very easy to drink and very refreshing, pleasent. Really enjoyed it.

Cloudy orange with a small pink head. Juicy aroma of raspberry with barnyard cantillon funk. Extremely sour berry flavour with wood and leather notes.

Brewed in Belgium...... Pours a nice ruby color with a foamy pink dissipating head. Aroma of raspberries, funk, earth and cheerios. The taste is of baby funk, raspberries and some major sourness !! The mouthfeel is on the thin side yet it’s foamy on the palate and finishes with some dryness. Overall, I am extremely pleased with lambic from Cantillon.

750ml bottle shared by BeerGestapo, a huge thanks for sharing this tasty treat. Pours a brilliant ruby red with a massive pink head. Smells tart with notes of funk, berry, and cereal. The flavor is tart and loaded with raspberries, funk, and wood. Drying effect all over the palate. Excellent.

Pours out redish pink with light pink bubbles. Smells of funky raspberries. Taste is tart and fruity. Lots of acid and sour flavors with some yeasty funk. Crisp and refreshing. Another great brew from Cantillon.

Bottle pours ruby red color with pink head. Aroma is some raspberry, tart acid, vinegar, and must. Medium mouthfeel with a lot of carbonation. Flavor follows the nose and has a lot of tart flavor. The wild yeasts are unmistakable cantillon. This is exactly what I was expecting and was not disappointed. This is a great beer.

Sampled out of the tulip glass: Poured a bright pink colou with a large white head that quickly dissipates. The awesome thing about these Cantillon beers is that they amazing retention so it wasn’t long before the froth came back after each sip. Aroma is raspberry on the nose which hit me the most. On the palate, sour fruits all the way through. A pretty misleading beer. I went into thinking it would be much fruiter. NEvertheless a wicked tastey treat. Thanks John :)"
