grandet (477), Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA May 5, 2009 Bottle from jessup plaza. Poured a nice dark red color with not much in terms of head. Nice aroma of sour raspberries and some funk. Taste is strong sour raspberry and funk. Very good// PJClarke (609), London, Greater London, England May 5, 2009 A lovely deep rose pink. Fluffy pink foam slowly fades to a dainty halo. Perfect fresh raspberry aromas with light hints of balsa wood and yeast and lovely sour twinges. Dainty, much like its appearance.
Big, sour and tongue-slapping explosion as soon as it gets in the mouth. Great nasal fruitiness with pink grapefruit and raspberries. Nice dryness at the back of the throat, champagne carbonation and a light, floating texture.
The only thing letting this down is that its sour crispness does play with the old stomach a little bit, but then I haven’t eaten in hours so... ScottyP (314), Brentwood, Tennessee, USA May 3, 2009 Butters BIg Blowout - Pours a cloudy pumpkin color with white head. Sour, sour sour, some raspberry on the nose. Sour taste throughout, acidic and vinegary. Whoo! Call me a beer novice but I couldn’t stomach this one. I tried, but no dice. Butters (1622), Virginia, USA May 3, 2009 Bottle shared at Butter’s Big Cellar Blowout. Sept 07 bottle. Absolutely against what I was in the mood for. Thanks matt...asshole. But very good for style. Refreshingly sour. Pours a hazy rose color with pinkish ring of head. Sour cheese aroma, with wild raspberries. Extremely tart sour acidic flavor. But probably the best lambic I’ve had. Damn I wished I liked these more. Barrios (852), Nashville, Tennessee, USA May 3, 2009 Bottle at Butters Big Cellar Blowout. Pours an off-white head with an amber-pink body. Smells of barnyard and red fruit. Tastes of red fruit, barnyard, sour, pepper, and tart. Hot and spicy. Excellent. BlackForestCO (819), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA May 3, 2009 Bottle shared by aplusbreaks, thanks man! Poured a clear pale orange with a thin white head that faded to a ring. Aroma of fresh, prickly raspberries, some barnyard yeastiness, funky horse blanket, and some oak. Sweet, smooth entry quickly transitions into a tart raspberry fruitiness with some funky horse blanket and a bit of cobwebby yeastiness that pairs with some oak and lingers in the dry finish. Low carbonation and great dry bite on the palate. Overall, another good lambic with some nice fresh raspberry flavors and aromas, but I think a bottle aged a little longer may fit my tastes better.
