Aroma is that of a lambic beer, sour fruit and a hint of barnyard. Flavor is unrelentingly sour, hint of unsweetened raspberries, a bit of funk, and some bitterness on the finish. Nice stuff. Very pungent sour acidic sweet aroma with the lightest hints of berries-raspberries I presume. Hazy golden-copper color with large quickly dissipating white-ish head. Sour sour sour. Lots of sour apple taste. Maybe some hints of raspberry, but its difficult to discern. Tastes like licking a 9 volt battery. I can see why these are love/hate and I think I will stick to the "regular" beers for a while. willblake (2193), Belcamp, Maryland, USA

Aromas of green wood, sour (slight vinegar) and musty barnyard. Some sour cherry fruit flavors, bright and cidery, lemon juice, more manure, and fresh, unripe berries. These Cantillon beers are wonderful, but the 750ml bottles are just killing me...way too much for a solitary imbiber with all this tart sourness. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 22, 2003 Color is somewhere between burgundy and raspberry. Aroma of musk, yeast, raspberry, and kool-aid. Tart with restrained sweetness. Cranberry and grapefruit sourness. Mouth-puckering palate.

And I say "shared" because the beer loving wimps there took one whiff and ran the other way. Ignorant heathens. In any event, this was aparently an older bottle because not much ofd the raspberry was left in the body. A faint raspberry tinge in the nose but very sour in the aroma and flavor. A little barnyard funk here and there. Most excellent. GonZoBeeR (2163), ste-Eulalie, Quebec, Canada

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 12, 2005 Musty barn floor aroma. pale pink/red color with no head to speak of. The first flavor that I notice is moldy jute cloth sack followed by some intense sourness and with an even stale flavor of lemon and overripe fruits. Perhaps it is betetr to age this as I find it too over the top sour in its current condition. OleR (2128), Oslo, Norway

Slight unclear pale ruby colored body. Initial aroma of barnyard and horseblanket, and then sourness and tart acidity takes over. Hints of rasberry in the flavor, defeated by a heavy sourness. Mouth-cleansing tartness throughout the finish. A bit too challenging for my tastebuds.
