Bottle (375ml - green and corked). At The Abbey, Ottawa. My 400th rating. Poured very bubbly gold (with a hint of rose colour there), a small off-white head , looked a bit like spanish sparkling wine. Aroma pretty straightforward, yeasty and powerfully tart and champagne-like (it’s a nose-tickler), with faint hints of fruits (raspberry? strawberry?). Taste is puckeringly sour, but you quickly develop a taste for it - bit like unsweetened lemon drops and champers, again that vague tart fruitiness is hidden in there like the aroma. *WARNING* - drinking this will make you almost immediately have to piss like a racehorse. Palate - well, acidic, lively. Overall I’m happy to have had a couple of "real" lambics now, and while this isn’t really my thing, I think I could develop a taste for this - could be the perfect summer beer ... my mouth stayed puckered for half an hour after I left the pub, I couldn’t bring myself to have a mint, I couldn’t risk it.

Oct 6, 2008 Pours a cloudy deep orange-pink color. Aroma is raspberry, strawberry, lemon, and vinegar. Slightly dry and bubbly. Flavor is a tart/sour raspberry and strawberry. Very excellent beer.

Oct 4, 2008 Bottle. Golden/pale red color with a small white head. Aroma: Very sour, barnyard, hay, cheese, faint tart raspberries, and wood. Flavor: Very sour and tart, faint raspberries, acidic, barnyard and cheese. Dry finish. I would actually have liked a bit more raspberries. Not bad at all, but it will surely give me stomach burn.

Sep 25, 2008 Updated: Oct 4, 2008From the Northcoast Coop this set me back a full $13.49 for 650 ml bottle. Poured a cloudy red with small off-white head and pink tinges on the bubbles. Nose is sour and clearly of raspberries. Mouthfeel is soft and smooth, and favor is a great sour note with raspberry sweetness backing it up. Simply sublime.

Sep 20, 2008 Very, very nice one here! Thanks to Sprinkle for the suggestion that I give this one a shot, and I’m very glad I did. Just like the description says, its the color of onion peels, with lots of small "floaties" in the brew. Pencil thin head around the sides of the glass, with minimal lacing. Aroma is nice and sour, full of raspberry. Flavor is all that and more. Sour, funk, raspberry, straw. Hint of flowers in the background. Sweet, but dry and tart (which is perfectly dealicious). Overall, a great beer, with big boobs on the label...how can you go wrong?

Sep 18, 2008 Bottle 75cl @ Home. [ Vintage 2005 ]. Clear medium orange red color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is tart, sour, raspberry, sulphurous. Flavor is moderate sweet, moderate to heavy acidic and moderate bitter with a long duration, and a dry and tart finish. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is lively to soft. Very nice ;o)) (150708)
