"It has the colour of onion skin", said a voice behind me. It was Raymond Coumans. He was admiring the colour of the raspberry lambic reflecting in the red copper of the buckets used to empty the barrels. At that time (1986), "Raspberry-Lambic" already was synonymous with a sweet, artificially flavoured beer. This is why we decided to distinguish our beer from the other raspberry beers. Raymond proposed to call it a rosé, dedicated not to Bacchus but to Gambrinus.

The process to make this beer is identical to the one to make Kriek. When young, the Rosé de Gambrinus will still present its full fruity taste. Later on, the lambic taste will become dominant at the expense of the fruit taste.

Beautiful stuff, this. The gal says it tastes like koolaid without sugar. Plenty of brett horsiness in the aroma. Dull cloudy tangerine stripped orange. Creates quite a pucker. Some noticable raspberry but very subdued. Vinegar notes. A great lambic.

Fresh aroma of fruits, berries (raspberry). Semi-clear, beuatiful red golden liquid. Light sweetness, light bitterness, and medium-high sourness. Very well tasting with raspberry present. Soft carbonation, full body.

Aroma on this beer is quite special. Sour raspberry, strawberry, funk, barnyard and oak. Vanilla. Flavor-wise i get quite a good amount of nice sweet raspberries, funk and strawberry. Quite nice. Dry finish. Well balanced.

Appearance- clear, light ruby red, a pink foamy head which very quickly diminishes. Aroma- straw, barnyard, tart fruit, raspberries by the bucketload, wild yeast, freshly made dough. Taste- loads of sour fruit, overripe cherries, tart raspberry, wet cardboard, wet hay, sour lip-puckering finish. Good stuff.

Used to live right by this wonderful place. Rose color tart and lightly carbonated. Taste some acidity and well balanced with a strawberry and grape jammieness with dry finish as the fruits continued on. On of my favorites.

Intense rose gold color, gentle carbo. A: sour raspberry, jam, strawberry, hint of blue berry. T: delicate geuze sourness, infused with sour raspberry. Gentle, well balanced sour fruity development. Crisp, almost. Neutral aftertaste.

Have to say it on every rating. PINK Beers rule. I have never had a pink beer that wasn’t awesome. Huge thanks to Chris (Prufrockstar) for sharing this beer as I finally catch him in ratings. We will see if it lasts. Looking forward to many more beers shared in the future. Pours a bright red with a pink foam head. Huge pucker sour fruit aroma. Sour cherry and mixed berry up front. Lingering sour pucker. My love for sours begins with beers like this. Loved it.
