COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"It has the colour of onion skin", said a voice behind me. It was Raymond Coumans. He was admiring the colour of the raspberry lambic reflecting in the red copper of the buckets used to empty the barrels. At that time (1986), "Raspberry-Lambic" already was synonymous with a sweet, artificially flavoured beer. This is why we decided to distinguish our beer from the other raspberry beers. Raymond proposed to call it a rosé, dedicated not to Bacchus but to Gambrinus.

The process to make this beer is identical to the one to make Kriek. When young, the Rosé de Gambrinus will still present its full fruity taste. Later on, the lambic taste will become dominant at the expense of the fruit taste.

Beautiful stuff, this. The gal says it tastes like koolaid without sugar. Plenty of brett horsiness in the aroma. Dull cloudy tangerine stripped orange. Creates quite a pucker. Some noticable raspberry but very subdued. Vinegar notes. A great lambic.

Een zeer bijzonder bier van de klassieke brouwerij Cantillon. Je proeft als het ware de oorsprong. Aroma van frambozen, azijn, eikenhout en kurk. Doet denken aan champagne. Smaak is zeer gelaagd: hout, gueuze, frambozen, alcohol. Bijzonder en uniek bier.

(bottle) hazy, bright red colour with a small pink head; aroma of funk, sourness, sour fruit; lively carbonation; rich, sour flavour with a long light sour finish

Very moderate lambic aroma. First in the mouth is a short lived fresh raspberry. Then largely 2 year-old lambic and finally a shy aftertaste of raspberry.

Pas de mousse et couleure rouge un peu trop flashy. goût acide arrive en premier puis est adouci par la framboise. Bel équilibre entre l’acidité et la framboise. Originale et bonne à boire.

Pours a small off-white frothy head that slowly diminishes. Body is hazy light redbrown. Sparkles are visible. Aroma contains strong raspberry, the typical wild yeast aroma's, some malts like hay and some hops like citrus fruits. Flavor is acidic and tart and stays like that. In the finish is light bitterness as well. Body is medium with creamy texture and soft carbonation. Just like all the lambic the aroma's are complex and hard to define. The raspberry is a good addition. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2015 bottle. Aroma lots of raspberry, lightly acidic, hints of lemon. Rich red colour, clear. Taste is quite sour, kicks you in the head initially. Lots of raspberry flavour, lemony, tart zesty. Very good, I would like to try it aged though.

Bottle, as pictured. Young bottle, though I didn’t see the cork. Could tell because it was super fruit forward. I’m glad I got an early one before it faded into the pure sour pucker. This had enough acidity in hit but definitely still fruit forward.
