The nose is jaw tightening in its tartness, with the light aromas of blue cheese, green grass, rising damp, and yes raspberries floods your senses, with just a touch of sweetness underneath it all, start is lightly sweet and enormously tart, the top light. Finish is devastatingly acidic with the sweet and sour raspberries lingering to the end, “Whoa Nellie”, this is so tart it makes your jaws hurt, ah the wonder of a true lambic, God I love’em. Very zingy and tart. Some acidity and bile to give it depth. Quite a bit of sourness to boot. Raspberries were faint and in the background. Salty finish. Dynamic, refreshing and tasty. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 9, 2004 Massive white head. Hazy, red-orange coloring. The liquid seems to be colored in vertical layers, with the darker red in the center and the lighter orange on either sides. Pungently sour aroma, mainly of sour cherries (I didn’t think there were any in here...). Wow, this stuff is VERY sour. Those sour gumballs we used to buy as kids have NOTHING on this. A slight hint of raspberry fruit, but the overall emphasis is on the sour tartness. Personally, I really like this, but the sourness is a bit much to handle at times, and can be rough on the palate. If you loved Sour Patch Kids or Tear Jerkers as a youngster, try this for a trip down memory lane. But bring enough friends to share the bottle with! joet (1709), Fulton, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 8, 2002 The label features a dude in black seated provocatively under a wide hipped nude blonde. Poured, it’s a deep, near clear, burnt orange with a pure white ring of foam with arabesques in the middle. The glass contains a slightly rotten fruit/dirty diaper odor laced with cherry apple sourness and suggestions of dusty hay. The lambic sourness is intense and very dry. The acidity is citric. This is a totally ghoulish mutation of raspberries. This is frambois nothing like a Lindemann’s or Liefman’s. The bottle is unguzzlable and after some time it does grow on you. Brown orange coloration, low head.
Quite sour and extremely extremely dry, fruit not really noticable. Andrew196 (1091), Katy, Texas, USA

Aroma of barnyard, wood, raspberries, notes of soap. Light amber in color, no light go through. Excellent full flavor.....and check this out: it was really sour. Not the best of its kind but a decent take on the style. Hildigöltur (5109), København, Denmark

Good woody leather and raspberry aromas with hints of almondy nuttiness. Moderately tart in the mouth with juicy raspberry more apparent than cherries. Dry and oily mouthcoating raspberry citric notes in the finish. The most accessible of the Cantillon beers, if thats possible.
