"It has the colour of onion skin", said a voice behind me. It was Raymond Coumans. He was admiring the colour of the raspberry lambic reflecting in the red copper of the buckets used to empty the barrels. At that time (1986), "Raspberry-Lambic" already was synonymous with a sweet, artificially flavoured beer. This is why we decided to distinguish our beer from the other raspberry beers. Raymond proposed to call it a rosé, dedicated not to Bacchus but to Gambrinus.

The process to make this beer is identical to the one to make Kriek. When young, the Rosé de Gambrinus will still present its full fruity taste. Later on, the lambic taste will become dominant at the expense of the fruit taste.

Pours a light red color with a frothy pink head - very feminine looking (I’m okay with that.) Smells... not as fruity as imagined, more like a gueze I think. It’s definitely got the sour, wet hay smell, and the raspberries are there - just subtle. Taste is definitely more raspberry. It’s got a huge sour punch that hits you right in the middle of the tongue. I really like this a lot, probably one of my favorite lambics (though I probably say that more often than I think, ha!)

Bottle from Tanakaya. Poured into a snifter. Pours a clear raspberry red with a huge pink head that dissipates completely. Raspberry, cherry, wood, yeast and some vinegar on the nose. Tart on the palate with some wood as well. Average carbonation with a slight earthiness present. Bone dry finish. Wonderfully refreshing and crisp!

Poured a clear dark pink with a frothy broken light pink head. The aroma is yeast, tart raspberry. The flavour is moderate sour with a smooth tart acid fruit palate. Light bodied with average carbonation.

Bottle share courtesy of BuckeyeBoy. Nice fruity nose, raspberries dominate without distracting. Clear pink pour, sweet and sour play well off each other.

Hazy red beer, pink was. Nose is tartness, raspberries, mild funk, sugary notes, somehow. Flavor is tart raspberry juice, barnyardy bitterness in the mix. Finish is bone dry. Very nice balance.

0,375L bottle, 2015 vintage (from beerExpress, Tallinn). Pours red with pink head. The head stays. Aroma is strawberries, tart, some dryness, and fruits. Flavor is tart, acidic, raspberries, some wood. Finish is long dry tartness with touch of bitterness. Overall: expected more raspberries, but otherwise great brew.

Une superbe framboisé à la robe grenat brillante. Le nez est puissant sur la framboise et le lambic, le bouche est droite, nette, le fruit est superbe, la longueur kilométrique et la finale superbement équilibrée. Un régal.

375 ml bottle, around 7 weeks old. Pours a beautiful opaque red body with a pink head. Aroma has pure raspberry juice without the sugars. Very natural and summery. Dry tart taste with more raspberries. More tart than sweet. A very faint hint of something lactic. Finish is mildly puckering. I want to pair it with desserts, especially chocolate cake or brownies!

At the brewery. Pours a clear darker red color, topped with a very small and quickly settling white head. Aroma pleasant as always, slightly soury feel to raspberry fruitness. Taste is gentle, fruity but almost without any sweetness. Wit ha decent soury feel to it. Very likeable.
