COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"It has the colour of onion skin", said a voice behind me. It was Raymond Coumans. He was admiring the colour of the raspberry lambic reflecting in the red copper of the buckets used to empty the barrels. At that time (1986), "Raspberry-Lambic" already was synonymous with a sweet, artificially flavoured beer. This is why we decided to distinguish our beer from the other raspberry beers. Raymond proposed to call it a rosé, dedicated not to Bacchus but to Gambrinus.

The process to make this beer is identical to the one to make Kriek. When young, the Rosé de Gambrinus will still present its full fruity taste. Later on, the lambic taste will become dominant at the expense of the fruit taste.

Bottle 375ml. Aged 18 months piror to tasting. Poured hazy bloody pink with an averaged sized, pink, frothy head which was mostly diminishing. Aroma was of acidic fruit with strong notes of musty wild yeast, sea water, cranberry juice, sour raspberries and fresh lemon juice. A very strong acidity in the flavor with sour yeasty notes, tart acidic fruit, sour cherries, fresh lemon juice, unripe cranberries, salty/brine-like notes and light notes of white-whine vinegar. Medium bodied with medium carbonation, a dry/tart mouthfeel, slightly syrupy texture and a long length finish.

Fantastisk fin stor rosa krona! Och hallonish färgad öl. Suverän hallondoft! Syrlig hallonkompott. Som en sommaräng. Mycket syra. Lång eftersmak som av surhet smiskar sig in igenom hela gommen & ligger kvar. Lätt kropp men ändå fyllig. Syran & hallonen är kanon! Love it! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at home. Hazy orange with a small pink head. Juicy aroma of raspberry with barnyard cantillon funk. Taste sour, rasberry, refreshing.

This is a must have beer in your portfolio. You have to try it to know who is cantillon. A lot of fruit when you taste eat, really clean mouth when you finish to drink it, you can drink a lot of pint of it, so strange for a lambic.

2012 bottle shared with friends. Aged on it’s side for the duration since purchase. Great aroma, almost resembles a Kriek, it’s very sour but not more than you can handle in one glass. But way better for sharing. Overall a little better than I remember it fresh.

Bottle shared by some nice folks. Pours a pinkish gold with minimal head. Aroma and taste of tartness and fruit, mostly raspberries.
