COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"It has the colour of onion skin", said a voice behind me. It was Raymond Coumans. He was admiring the colour of the raspberry lambic reflecting in the red copper of the buckets used to empty the barrels. At that time (1986), "Raspberry-Lambic" already was synonymous with a sweet, artificially flavoured beer. This is why we decided to distinguish our beer from the other raspberry beers. Raymond proposed to call it a rosé, dedicated not to Bacchus but to Gambrinus.

The process to make this beer is identical to the one to make Kriek. When young, the Rosé de Gambrinus will still present its full fruity taste. Later on, the lambic taste will become dominant at the expense of the fruit taste.

On tap at Cafe Sara. Misty pinkish red golden body with a pink head. Inviting red berries and a hint of marzipan on the nose. Sour grapefruit, raspberies and cherries in the mouth. Refreshing and pleasant. Medium bodied and smooth to drink although it grows a bit in the mouth. The red berries linger. I like and love to think of my bottle stored at home.

Sour, funk, fruit. All bases covered here. An outstanding lambic with the overwhelming raspberry taste coming over massively on the front and back end. Jammy and bright.

Bought at Cantillon’s braserie in Brusels. Excellent beer, no artificial raspberry flavour. Beautiful colour and great taste. Totally recomended. A visit to the braserie is also worth it.

Poured at the brewery at the end of our tour. Pours a bright pinkish red with a white head. Aromas of acid, vinegar, grape must, horse, and raspberries. The taste was tart but greatly subdued by the fruit. The raspberries came through wonderfully in this beer. Medium mouthfeel and medium high carb. Really enjoyed this one.

Bouteille (nov2013). Bootlegger. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

We just bought a 75cl bottle in the brasserie cantillon. Excellent beer, with a really nice color of pomegranate. Not artificial flavor of raspberry at all. It’s just a really great beer 100% recommended.

37.5 cL bottle at home. Pours hazy orange/pink with a large off-white head. Aroma is a bit sour with quite some barnyard, typical Cantillon, some fruitiness and raspberries. Taste is medium sour with quite some barnyard, a little bit of raspberries, wood, and a slightly dry finish. Medium body and carbo. Nice, but not much raspberry.

From notes. Enjoyed at the Ashley’s Rare & Vintage Beer TasteFest on June 07. The pour is a nice foggy gold with hints of reddish-orange and a thin off-white-yet-lightly-pink head and no lacing. The aroma is big sour and fruits, yet lightly floral. The flavor is a blast of the sourness backed up by a nice fruitiness. I was surprised at how sour it seemed up front, and there was a lack of much else. The mouth feel isn’t extraordinarily thin, but the carbonation is pretty great. The aftertaste actually changes a little, from a sour bomb with a smooth fruitiness that lingers beautifully

Belle couleur rose rouge. Un nez de fruit rouge particulièrement de framboise. Une acidité moyenne qui reste bien en bouche et pas trop sucré. Un ensemble très agréable.
