"It has the colour of onion skin", said a voice behind me. It was Raymond Coumans. He was admiring the colour of the raspberry lambic reflecting in the red copper of the buckets used to empty the barrels. At that time (1986), "Raspberry-Lambic" already was synonymous with a sweet, artificially flavoured beer. This is why we decided to distinguish our beer from the other raspberry beers. Raymond proposed to call it a rosé, dedicated not to Bacchus but to Gambrinus.

The process to make this beer is identical to the one to make Kriek. When young, the Rosé de Gambrinus will still present its full fruity taste. Later on, the lambic taste will become dominant at the expense of the fruit taste.

Appearance: Dark cherry red with a full inch frothy hot pink head which settles pretty quickly to nothing....lots of carbonation in this bad boy Smell: Hopped out raspberries and" peppery-phenols’ r’ us"...very tart and sour aroma as well..very nice Taste: Wow can we say very sour and tart raspberry vino...I am not too much for sourness when it comes to lambics....though its quite often the case....but for the style it seems appropriate and fair....just a bit too much....flower pedals...and champagne characteristics also jump out to me Notes: Pretty nice stuff...lots of depth....just a bit to sour and I couldn’t drink more than one of these

What a great beer. Not your usual sweet fruit beer. A great mix between lambic and fruit. You can really tell it’s used with fresh Raspberries. Has a lovely bright pinkish red appearance with the typical lambic smell. The first taste is like a punch in the face of flavour. Lovely carbonation mixed with just the perfect balance of sour fruit and sweetness. Definitely more sour than sweet overall.

Pours a deep ruby red, with a faint purple-ish head. Aromas are raspberry, cherry, and oak. The taste is somewhat sweet, while refreshingly tart. The mouthfeel is light and sparkly. Aftertaste is long and vinegary, yet fresh.

The beer is dark, slightly brownish red. Looks pretty hazy. Small pink head, sorta fizzy. Fades to a ring pretty quickly. Raspberry jam and lambic funk in the aroma. Wonderful fruit flavor. Horse blanket, cheese, fresh tart berries. Medium tart. Lots of raspberry fruit flavor. Dry. Effervescent feel.
