Editor’s Note: This is a special version of Saint Lamvinus that was bottled unblended (and uncarbonated) for Akkurat in Stockholm, Sweden (listed on the menu as 2004 Saint Lamvinus Still). Only 200 bottles were made. There were no distinguishing marks on them. This is NOT available in the United States nor in Belgium, unless from Jean Van Roy himself. Some bottles are available in Denmark from certain Ratebeerians, otherwise only from Akkurat. Unless you specifically were told that you had unblended Lamvinus, and it was dead flat, you had regular Lamvinus.

Bottle at Akkurat in May 2011. Hazy pinkish with no head. A very elegant and vinous beer. Also very tart. Nice aroma and taste of berries, oak and vinegar. Dry and with a sour finish. Excellent mouth feel despite no carbonation. Superb beer!

750mL 2004 Merlot ed black foil at Akkurat in Stockholm. The pour is a hazy, near opaque purple with no head. A little white sticker says "STILLA" on the bottle. Aroma is apricot, raspberry, peach, blueberry, vinegar, dried apricot, funk, caramel, heavy berries. Taste is tannic, heavy, tart, grape skin, mold, extremely berry heavy and tannic. Palate is tannic, dry, spicy, big carbonation. Tart as hell. Maybe a little acetic flash in the palate.

Thanks for Chris for this one. Dry and funky with lots of vinous notes-red wine, red fruits/berries, some cheese and cobwebs. Body is insanely soft and velvety. Finish is dry, sour and tannic. Superb.

Sample from Chris Q at woodshop, thank you so much for breaking this out man! Pours a hazy pinkish purple with zero head and no carbonation. Big tart nose full of strawberries, razz, boysen and even some tart cherries. Flavor was very tart with berries and some citrus peel with a nice underlying funk. Even with no carbonation the mouth feel was stellar.

cquiroga with the mad gem here! Man what a beer. Brown pour with some light pink edges. Berries, vinegar, tart fruit, funky as hell, my mouth watered just smelling it. Flavor is sour and fruity and funky. Dry and tart. Each sip envelopes your entire mouth and puckers you just enough to want MORE. Wow.

750mL bottle at Woodshop 5.0, generously shared by cquiroga. Thanks, Chris! Pours a hugely murky, pinkish brown color; mostly headless; very murky and pulpy. Absolutely gorgeous aroma: barnyard funk, tart strawberries, pittiness, wheat; perfectly tart and acidic; dense, funky, absolutely lovely. Medium body: lots of tart strawberries, wheat, and pleasant pitty red fruits; bone dry, lively acidity and pulpy red fruits and light tannins. A very lovely fruit beer with an absolutely beautiful aroma. Medium finish: tart strawberries, light tannins, and cherry pits; beautifully dry.

75 cl bottle, courtesy of Hildigöltur. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Dry barnyard and mild wineous aroma. Sour and wooden flavoured with a distinct citric note into a rather dry citric finish. Made me shiver. Citric and wineous finish and dry.
