Bottle, ’13, split a few ways. Rating #900. Slightly hazy dark red pour with a small head. Nose has some funk, lots of berries, grapes, leather and light balsamico. Taste is smooth, moldy, grapes, blueberries, dusty, funk and some leathery notes. Delicious stuff!

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a hazy ruby tinged tea color with an off white head and decent lacing. Aroma is tart with some barnyard and wine grapes. Some mild sweetness at the beginning that is overtaken by a moderate vinegar sourness. Some grape and raspberry flavor along with some wood and a mild funk. Mouthfeel is crisp with a light/medium body and high carbonation. Very good.

Color of cranberry juice no head. Smells of tart grape, sour, perm, candy. Taste is sour bubbly rush, grape, cranberry, red wine, that finishes dry with a vanilla caramel taste with a little woodiness. Refreshing with a good sour that finishes with some sweetness and barrel.

Backlogging, notes from memory. Bottle shared at Mikkeller Bar. Purple burgondy pour with a small film of head. The nose was very in-your-face sour, about as vinous as they get, berries and oak. Taste was great, red grapes, funky and mouth-puckeringly sour. Lingering vinous and oaky taste.

Bomber to a snifter for my Bday. Clear deep ruby red with frothy pink head and minimal lacing. Merlot grape, Brett funk and oakiness. Plenty of fruit up front, then dank with a tart sour finish. Best lambic I have had to date.

Bottle from the brewery, 2014 vintage. Dfificult to open - fresh cork! Pours pink-purple, light white head. Rotting raspberries and soft berry fruit aroma, hint of sweat. Tart, medium sourness, some sweet fruity jamminess, berries, tannic grape skin, some slightly cheesy funk.

2012 btl - from cellar
Looks... rouge red, sml head reduces to ring around the glass producing a fine lacing.
Smells..lambic dank characters and loads of floral grape presence.
Tastes..refreshing, grapes from light bodied merlot, blending with more rounded sour lambic characteristics and finishing with a real oakyness. Outstanding #Cantillon greatness

Bottle fresh from the brewery. Bottled 22 october 2014. Pours a very sirupy viscosey pink red, murky. No sound during pouring even & hardly any carbonation! Interesting! Pinkish tiny head. I smell raspberry marmelade, forest fruit, some carbo hits the nose... And slight oak and tannins. Very soft to the palate and mildly sour & fruity in aftertaste. Slight sour Grape at first, then raspberry and some cherry pop up, followed by sugarry strawberry jam. Love the melassey structure, will age beautifully but should be tasted fresh from the counter too. Compare! The Saint Lamvinus is a beauty; soft, complex and different! Maybe misses some carbo, but it’s real nice for a change. Perfect to pair with certain meat dishes; skip the red wine.
