2005. purple red colored with a small pink, purple head. light sour grape aroma with hints of sulfur. flavor is very woody, plastic, cork, bret, and funk. not too fruity. grapes show up more as it warms. a little disappionted.

Draught at Max’s in Baltimore Ruby blood color, light pink head. Nose of light grape, darker though with currant and cherry notes. Lightly vinous and tangy notes. The flavor is musky, a bit dry, but still very complex and tasty. Finishes ripe, juicy, clean. Good cantillon. I figure it must be better in bottles though.

1/22/07 On tap at the maproom. Deep red ruby color with a small pink head. A nose of sour grapes, sugar, and oak. Lightly carbonated, nice mouthfeel. Sweet flavors balanced well with sourness. Red grapes, tart, and so oaky. Drying sourness. Oaky tart finish. Comparing this to the other vintages, the earthyness seems to really come out over time. I love this beer. 9/5/8/4/18 = 4.4

10/1/06 - 750 ml bottles. Vertical with vintages 2005 and 2001. Pours a bronze red with a small pink head. The aroma comes out as woody and earthy with dark fruit and sour undertones. The flavor hits the tongue tart and sharp but rounds out well with oaky earthy flavors that fade to delicate sweet grape fruitiness that finishes very long. The ’05 is similar but with the oaky and dark fruit notes turned down and a little thinner body. This one blew me away. 4.7

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow & tupalev -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a hazy pinkish-red with a large light-pink head. Nice funky aroma of sour fruit. Flavour is sour and vinuous -- getting even more so as it sits, quite tasty and drinkable. Medium bodied. Very good, another winner from Cantillon.

Bottle shared with GregClow, Hogtown Harry, and Blankboy. Deep red, small white head. Wow - aroma is so strong - funkiest one yet tonight on a night of funky aromas! Sourness, yet malt there too - someone at the table mentioned fruit skins, I’ll go with that...Taste is very sour, lots of grape skins. Big lingering sourness. Thin but adequate mouthfeel. A really nice lambic - and very drinkable.

Bottle shared with blankboy, tupalev & HogTownHarry - HogTownHarry’s bottle. Hazy orange-pink colour, no head. Lovely mellow funk aroma with fruity wine notes. Flavour - dry, tart funkiness with notes of lemon juice, wine & horseblanket. Very nice.

Not the best from this brewery. Poured a ruby color almost no head no lacing. Aroma was of funk stright up barnyard and sourness. Flavor was much the same. refreshing beer but not as good as i wanted it to be.

Bottle (750ml). Shared with blankboy, GregClow andI tupalev, my bottle via trade with Boutip. Murky red-ruby, smallish white head. Smells like a sour lambic - funky and fruity, sour, oaky - nice - fruit comes out more on warming, nice grape character on warming. Solid body, very astringent, sour and carbonated. Nice - very drinkable.
