UPDATED: MAR 2, 2015 Bottle. Pours deep dark hazy red with a thick white head. Aromas of tart, dark red berries. Raspberry, cherries, red grapes. Lots of red wine notes and alot of sourness, some leather and funk. Taste is tart rich red berries up front, dry oaky notes, funk, slight barnyard, leather, vinous notes, balsamico. God damn, this beer!

(2013 bottle @ barVolo for Zwanze Day, Sept 20 2014) Lightly hazed dark rosé colour with a lacy pink-white head. Aroma of red wine, grape, bitter herbs, barnyard funk. On the palate, acidic red fruit wine character, woody, slightly spicy herbs, drying and barrel/tannic red wine quality in the finish, There is fruit sweetness at the core. Feels like some hop bittering and something like light grain in the aftertaste. Medium bodied with high active carb. Very harmonious combination of fruit and barrel with the underlying lambic, this is a fantastic sipper that sits somewhere between a fruit lambic and a stronger-flavoured rose wine and is probably better than most examples of either.

UPDATED: APR 18, 2015 750ml bottle served in a tulip glass. A: First of all, beautiful bottle art. Beautiful label in a nice corked and capped bottle. Pours a slightly hazy dark pinkish color forming a medium and very bubbled fizzy pink head. Low retention and practically no lacings left in the glass. S: Very fruity nose. Strong notes of grapes, oak and red wine. Tart with some notes of sweet malt. Lambic Brett yeasts. Metallic hints. T: Slightly sweet upfront that becomes quickly sour and light bitter. A very fruity, tart and dry ale. Strong notes of grapes. Grapes vinegar. Lambic yeasts. Metallic finish. M: Light body. Medium carbonation. Tart and fruity aftertaste. Again, strong and persistent notes of grapes. O: Very drinkable beer. Just another amazing Cantillon... [ BA Review @ 1/30/2010 ]

UPDATED: OCT 31, 2014 Cantillon’s red grape lambic, referring to a 19th-century tradition from Hoeilaart where grapes were and are still grown, but where lambic has ceased to exist since then. This product is made in very limited quantities and not easy to find on the Belgian market. It is a ravishing purple red beauty with lilac foam and ’champenoise’ sparkles, very complex, extremely fruity, lovely funkiness, and one of the most elegant lambics I ever tasted, though I do prefer the white grape version called Vigneronne over this (but only very slightly so).

Tap@akkurat. Dark red. Dark red fruity nose, barnyard, funk, the cantillon flavour. Very nice nose. Quite pronounced fruits, not as much as a kriek, but stull notecable berryness. Dry tart body, wonderful dark grape finish. Really nice. Probably the best fruited cantillon I’ve had. It’s more dark harmoneous fruity than krieks or otherd.

Incredible opaque plum color and yeasty vinegar aroma. Has a well developed sour flavor with sweet notes and a slight fizz long finish.

Bottle from Edmunds Oast. Amber red pour with some pinkish highlights and a bubbly white head. Big aroma of layered deep yeast funk, sourdough, pizza shop, hay, lemons zest, plums, dark fruits, oak and wine. Complex flavor of oak wood, dark fruits, yeast funk, pizza shop, sourdough, lemon zest and citrus. Medium bodied and wonderful carbonation. So fucking delicious.

Shared pint in Homosibaris bar. Dark red color beer with a strong aroma of wine and fruits. This was my first Lambic beer and was an amazing experience. For sure I will drink it again combined with some cheese or ham.

Fresh red colour, foam is white which lasts quite long. Smell is fresh sour, kinda barnyard smell. Also a little sweetness to it. Mouthfeel is nice, tart. Medium body. Carbonation is little. Very nice fruit lambic. A good combination between the lambic and the grapes. Taste is sour as well as a little sweet. Aftertaste is like a red whine. This is a beer you should have had.
