Beautiful stuff, lovely glowing red. Nose is, uh, different. It smells exactly like a cow took a dump in my glass. Much to my surprise, I donít mind all that much, but hey, maybe thatís the smells of my Iowa youth coming back to me. Flavor is bright and fruitiy, quite pungent with a sharp green apple bite. Sour, but certainly not overpowering, retains an easy drinkability, manages to be punchy and explosive without overpowering the experience.

2003: Pour is beautiful burgundy color with thin purplish white head...smell is Cantillon, funk, horseblanket, vinegar, pears and apples, sour, hints of oak and some notes of Burgundy but very subtle and only as it warmed...taste is huge and sour with lots of apple and funk with hints of oak...I donít get any real winey notes from it, but just a nice roundness to the sourness...delicious...

I am a fan of Cantillon, but wanted a little more out of this one. The dark red body was attractive. The aroma was typical Cantillon with funky horseblanket, vinegar and apples. The taste was very tart with vinegar and a hint of the grapes. There was also some leather in the finish. I could barely tell that this was a fruit lambic.

Huge wet horse blanket nose. Beautiful sour notes. Big sourness, but way more finesse then the rest. The wine tannins are like silk on your tongue.

Thanks to sprinkel, Indy tasiint 12/10/05. This was one of the standout beers of the night. Purple pink pour with some haze. Aroma lends a warmth and an amazingly tart fermented character. Terribly tart and fruity aroma, and in this case I use terribly as a powerfully positive descripitive. Aroma also has warm notes of plastic and sour funk. Really unique and deep aromas. The flavor is completely mouth watering. Amazingly smooth, tart, and acidic cherry and wine fruit flavors. Great finish makes you want more of this beer. I canít really explain how great this beer was. I need more, and just wish it wasnít so expensive. Trust me though, I will have more.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
(Bottle courtesy íSprinkle?í Indy tasting 12/10/05) Aroma is strong cabernet and port wines. Pours a deep muddy violet-red with small head. Flavor is sour grapes, very íwineyí, vinegar, and oak. Palate is tart and sticky. Not sure if I would have enjoyed this more by itself and not mixed in with all the other brews at the tasting. A small sample may not be enough to appreciate the depth and character.

clouded iced tea pour with a yellow head. aroma is so good, so evil, so vile, damn i love it. sweaty paper bag with some dirty blankets and dry manure nose. much milder sour flavor than i expected. tannins are noticeable, woody orange peel taste. so much depth to this. so dry, so good. it is powderific. thanks andrew.

Bottle. Thanks to someone at the Indy Circle City Samplers rate party. Pours a hazy pink color. Aroma of tart vinegar with strong cherry notes. Flavor is quite sour, this makes the mouth water for more. This was crazy on the palate. Wish I had more of this.

Rosť lambic with a light cherry and lactic acid aroma. Dry cherries in mouth with strong sour notes, very puckering and definitely classic. Rich and complex, with cheese-like qualities. Medium bodied. Sampled at Quintessence Cantillon 2005.
