Delicious, but not my favourite Cantillon. The burgundy barrels seem to even out the flavor more than I want them to be evened. I prefer very sour and funky lambics, and this just didn’t quite do it.

Pours ruby with no head, decent carbonation. Smell is dry like wine, fruity. Taste is sour, acidic, medicinal, almost painful, destroys the palate, don’t let this be the first beer in your day/night.

Head: small pinkish that’s away fast
Colour: watermelon red
Smell: red fruits, cherrys, wineously sour ,bit sweet
Taste: start is pretty acidic but then hits in a very very nice flavour of grapes with a small bitterness of the tipical bitterness you taste when "biting" a grape/skin of a grape, vinegary acidity runs thru the whole flavour as well as and underneath small dose of bitterness, end is cherrys and a little bit sweet banana like , very very nice !!!

Bottle coaxed out of MrPickles cellar by Tooch4321...thanks Andy and Adam! - Pours rosy amber wit a thin ring of white head. Nose is red wine, a bit of cheese, and a touch of shower curtain. Earth and hay. Taste brings in the tartness, with vinegar, dry red wine, and citrus rind on the finish. Very tart. Soft carbonation and a fairly light body. Glad I tried this.

75cl bottle shared with Dutchdrebus and Ansjelaah at QDT’12. Hazy, murky, almost opaque dark (bordeaux) red color, small off-white to lightly pink, mostly diminishing head that leaves fair lacing. Smell lightly sour, lightly grapes, lightly yeast. Taste moderately acidic and grapes. Dry finish of avergae duration. Low to medium body, dry texture, medium but soft carbonation. Nice balance.

Bottle at Monks in Sioux Falls back in SoDak, via notes. A bar with several Cantillon bottles on the menu for really good prices, for a bar. ($30) Pours a deep purple red with some frothy pink bubbles. Aroma is wine grape skin, oak and some sour notes. Taste is much more wine like than almost any beer I’ve had. The grape skin and tannins come through here with a slight lactic sourness and some funk at the end. Overall, I liked this a lot to have a glass here and there but I would call this one of my least favorite Cantillon bottles. (Not that I wouldn’t buy this again if I saw it, when shared.)

Big bottle @ QDT?12 thx to benzai. Very unique red and purple opague colour with a small lacing pinkish head. Smells grapes, not even sour, fruity, fresh. Tastes slightly sour, very refreshing, fruity, balanced.. Great cantillon brew. Medium body, lovely carbo.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 BARLEYWINEO (106) - Tacoma, USA - APR 28, 2012
A: Poured a very light purple color with good carbonation leaving a nice cap and some bubbles
S: Big grape character on the nose with funk and old oak/wood spirals
T: A musty but big and rich load of purple grapes with some oak, light vinegar and Earthiness. I believe a little tartness from a white grape was provided for good measure
M: Nice dry, medium body and well carbonated. The sourness really hangs in there as does the grapes.
O: Delicous!
