750 ml corked and capped bottle served in a Zwanze Day 2012 flute. 2011 cork. Thanks to kevanb for sharing. A: Pours a hazy pinkish and grapefruit-like color combination with an off-white pinkish head forming on the pour. S: A ton of Cantillon funk, light cheesy aspects with a nice dark grape tartness. Nice red wine tannins going on as well. T: Big sourness up front. Grapey, red wine drying tannin. Oaky, with a light sweetness on the finish. Not as funky as the nose, but it is underlying throughout. Acidic as well. M: Enamel stripping, bubbly and lively carbonation with a light body. O: Very delicious. Sour, funky and really drinkable. on tap at alewife’s beers gone wild event. it was decanted from a key keg via a modified connector, which helped increase the roundness of the lambic. beautiful clear garnet red color, no head, enticing sour note in the nose, very smooth sourness -- not sharp at all. some red wine character in the background.

fizzy pink head that bursts open and just disappears with lacing. ruby-red turbid colour. aroma of red fruit and sourness. taste is red fruit, raspberry, sour aftertaste sour with bitter finish and slight wry (perhaps due to the skin of the grapes and tanines?). good, but not cantillons best imho. bottle 75 cl / best before 12/-2022

16/04 A 0.75 l bottle, courtesy of Marko, great thanks for sharing! Bottled in 2012, poured hazy dark red with pink head. Berry fruit aroma, some cherries, generally French red wine with touch of wood and yeast. Flavor was slightly acidic, also only a little bit sweetish, again more similar to wine, tart with berry fruitiness. Medium bodied with moderate, slightly sweet and mostly astringent finish with lot of tannins. A great blend, actually most similar thing to an elegant, complex wine I’ve ever rated on RB.

A - Slightly hazy red with a touch of orange and a thin finger of slightly reddish head. Fades normal. S - Sweet wheat, merlot grapes, oak, vanilla, barnyard funky tart yeast, tartness, sourness, with some other sweet berries. T - Sweet wheat, merlot grapes, oak, vanilla, barnyard funk, funky yeast, tartness and sourness, other sweet berries, and lactic acid. M - Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Smooth with a tart, funky, sour, dry, and lightly sweet finish. D - Fantastic complexity and balance.

Pours fuchsia with a fast fading pink head. Smells exceptionally vinous, clearly like merlot. Taste is sour and fruity, without a doubt sour grapes. Medium-bodied with an astringent texture and prickly mouth-carbonation, Cantillon Saint Lamvinus finishes with a soft tartness.

Bottle 750ml. Pours clear red/pink with almost no head (very low pink). Aroma is of sourness, grapes, fruits. Taste is sour, fruits, grapes. Palate: Ligth body. Overall: Very interesting grapes. Reminiscent of a clear young table wine. As the sourness feeling fade out, sips besome more and more interesting (imo). Not quite as complex as I would have expected. Very easily drinkable. A somewhat unique beer. I was surprised I did’nt get any barnyard/funk, maybe hidden by the grapes.

75cl bottle. Tasted blind. Appearance: red beer, little to no foam. Nose: red fruits, cherry, wood, very sweet, very little grapes noticeable. Taste: sweet, little sour towards the end, rather balanced, wood. very fruity in total, but hard to say which fruits.
