brewed every year, this one you might get a chance to try, 1 of 250 bottles, 2009 bottling... never having sea buckthorn its a bit tough to describe or pull out the flavors, really similar to a guezue with a bit of sweet fruit

Kevyt, hedelmäinen, tyrninen maku. Maku täydellisen kirpeä, hyvin hapan. Gueuzemainen jälkimaku.

Had the 2003 and 2002 vintages @ One Pint Pub. Great beer however the "worst" of the finland exclusives. Still a great beer with a great taste.

UPDATED: NOV 21, 2013 375ml bottle cork 2003 (thanks bearded guy for the opportunity to try the first batch) 375ml bottle cork 2004 so i had two of these and my preference was to the older one due to the rich berry flavor that was in that compared to the "fresher" one. a straight on fruit lambic, it tasted of what it stated tyrni or sea buckthorn, so it was lambic with fruit.

Split with the missus. Pours gold with a slight white head. Funky, unfamiliar aroma. Lots of barnyard but some strange fruit. Taste is excellently tart. Fruity, puckering. Pretty all right.

Paying €45 for a 1/2 bottle of beer is not something I normaly do (Utopias beeing worth whatever it will cost not included). But this one I just had to have! Nice quiet evening, sitting all alone outside the bar, starting to get a little dark outside, enjoying this bottle of long sought beer all by myself. And "OMG!" what a beer this is!! This is SO incredibly nice I could drink it every day for the rest of my life: Nice creamy longlasting head, looks fantastic. Aroma is really nice and balanced sour, lemons, sorrel, citrus peel, grass, rhubarb, sea buckthorn. Taste is very fresh and sour, sea buckthorn, fresh lemons, sorrel, raw rhubarb, citrus peel, oak. Slightly dry mouthfeel. Theese divine drops are worth every penny, and then some...

5% at One Pint Pub, Helsinki. 47 euro! Man maybe I am nuts but it is a rare beer I hear can only be bought here, so what the hey. 2002 vintage bottled in 2004 so 9 years old. Fairly clear hold color, light head. Nice sour tart aroma, a hint of unknown berries in the background. Very very sour & acidic, but a clean finish with that earthy fruity taste from the plant they used. The fruit is sea buckthorn berry, I guess that is why the finish kind of had a sea quality to it similar to nori. Kind of salty, a tasty sour beer, worth the experience I guess but the price keeps climbing... Once is enough, but quite good!

2002 bottle at One Pint Pub from the gentleman behind the bar. Maybe the rarest beer that I have ever tasted. It pours clearer golden orange with just a small white ring for a head. The aroma brings a tart yeast base with funk, my colleagues describe it as feet. Flavor brings faint sweet berries which wake up well with the temperature going up super. There is a dry body and tart ending, but not puckering, The flavor brings tart yeast that ends smooth. The beer is very dry overall.

375ml bottle, 2005 cork...thanks to Springer!

Pours a light sunny orange color, wisps on top, thin ring of head around the glass. Nose is a mix of bitterness & funk, some herbal notes in there as well. It does have some notes of oxidization as well. Flavor is a bit better then the nose. Funk, bitterness, sour, oak, and light herbal notes. Light body, good carbonation, tart dry finish.

This was an "interesting" beer, but compared to the other lambics throughout the night, it was closer to the bottom-end. Still, glad to have tried it and appreciate the share.

Bottles provided by my future best man Bryan. Thanks a lot Springer! Pours a lightly hazy orange with a thin white head. Very distinctive nose on this, I haven’t smelled sea buckthorn at all, but smelling this I know exactly what is now. If I had to describe it, it smells a little corked with a little minty and oceany/salty character to it. Flavor isn’t as sour as I’ve been told, it’s actually pretty tame in comparison to the Spuyten and Bourgogne. It’s has a berry and saltiness to it. Light mouthfeel, light carbonation, moderate acidity, and a long finish. I really enjoyed this beer, another very unique beer from Jean.
