17thfloor (1402), Chicago, Illinois, USA Nov 4, 2009 December 2008 bottle (I’m assuming) sample #16 at 1st CST. Pours a clear straw/golden with a fine white froth. Dusty funky nostril tingling but still soft and super appealing aroma. Super sour, love the sourness, acidic, dusty, very very tangy, mouth puckering but quite sophisticated, lovely, touch of bitterness rounds it out. Fine smooth ubiquitous soft sizzling carbonation. Love it! Teege (71), Orlando, Florida, USA Oct 21, 2009 750 ml bottle from Green’s in Atlanta. Very reminiscent of a dry white wine in many ways, but better and more complex than most. Golden in color, bright and translucent, very slightly cloudy. A white wine body with thin foam and almost no lace. Earthy nose, grapes are certainly present but also the yeast, the combination of which makes a very nice fragrance. The flavor is tart but not as sour as I expected. Lambic up front and grapes in the finish. Very nice beer. Boutip (2332), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Oct 4, 2009 Bottle: Poured a bright golden yellow color lambic with a small pure with bubbly head with minimal retention and not much lacing. Aroma of horse blanket with light green apple acidity and light tart finish. Taste is a well balanced mix between some tart notes with light oak and some horse blanket and soaked leather. Acidity is well balanced but muscat grapes are hard to noticed but could have dropped the acidity level since I seem to noticed that there is less acidity then in a regular Cantillon product. NomDeBeer (397), Maryland, USA Sep 28, 2009 Taste is vinegar and apple cider - tart and sour with mild acidity. Excellent head retention, hazy golden color with moderate to high carbonation. Light, quaffable body that goes down smooth. Great beer. Davinci (295), Chicago, Illinois, USA Sep 20, 2009 Hazy peachy golden pour with thin white ring around the glass. Highly acidic nose, some rubberiness. white grapes, a little tariness. Super sour up front, burnt rubber again and grapes. Lingering tartness. Very tasty.
Eructoblaster (1477), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Sep 20, 2009 Bottle - 750ml. Hazy blond body with low carbonation and a thin white bubbly/foamy head. Strong hoppy aroma with fruity hints. Its sharp hoppy taste carries green apple, citrusy, and flowery notes. Ends with a long sour finish. Very good Lambic. BeerBiker (1384), Odense, Denmark Sep 15, 2009 [Bought at UTO-beer, Borough Market, London.] Acid pale-yellow look with fluffy offwhite head. Aroflavor of grapefruit, real grapes (muscat maybe), sure acid, dryness, souryeast, grapepeel ending up with a beautiful finish. Fantastic beer! MrChopin (620), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 7, 2009 Updated: Sep 9, 2009Hazy orange, fluffy white head that goes quickly to a thick ring. Nose of heavy citric acid, barn, sulfur/egg. A touch of sweet grape brightens the flavor to go along with some lemon, egg, barn, and dust. Very fizzy, sparkling, but a little short. Flavor is the highlight, very sweet balance. Outside of that, this is standard Cantillon geuze goodness.
