Pours hazy yellow with an impressive creamy white head that disappears almost instantly. Aroma has citrus, funk, tart grapes, barnyard and light flowery. Light carbonation. Flavour is heavily citric tart at first, light moldy. Nice grape flavours and a good doughy character behind the tartness. Very white wine-ish. DSG (1501), Tel Aviv, Israel Apr 1, 2008 (3/12/08) Bottle at Bier Circus in Brussels. Hazy pale orange with a small white head. A unique vinous aroma with some Muscat grapes notes, some Lambic funk and nice fresh fruitiness. Dry sour flavor with some of the familiar citric tartness but also some white wine fruity (white grapes, apples, some peaches) tone that adds a very interesting aspect to the flavor. Medium-bodied. The back of the label pretty much sums it up "A delicate compromise between white wine and beer" – another successful experiment from Cantillon. wickedpete (625), Lexington Park, Maryland, USA Mar 30, 2008 Thanks to Michael for this one. Gold body, and no head. Sour aroma, detection of apples. Flavor is sour, acidic, and bretty. Really quite delicious and a pleasure to share. badbeer (432), Iowa, USA Mar 21, 2008 Murky yellow color with very little head. Aroma was sour, similar to vinegar (surprise surprise), and had a bit of astringency similar to grape skins. Tasted like sour, dry, grape skins and a bit of other funk. Light body and very little carbonation. This beer was on tap at the Maduro. I think I like it better than my score indicates, but it is what it is. pepsican (883), The Student Ghetto, Iowa, USA Mar 20, 2008 Updated: Mar 21, 2008On tap. pours hazy amber with no head. Aroma is grape, apple, vanilla. Taste is similar with a good bit of funk. Sour and acidic. Finish is quick. A Very nice surprise! chicagodri (1021), Chicago, Illinois, USA Mar 20, 2008 Had this bottle at Stone Brewery (stole a little bit from the girlfriend). This is a funky smelling beer. Had some nice fruit in it, apple and grapes. Tasted like a shocktart almost, it was one heck of a sour beer. Not overpowering though, I thought it was very good. minch25 (346), Columbus, Ohio, USA Mar 2, 2008 Updated: Jul 13, 2009Rerate: 7-13-09
Dull hazy peach orange yellow color, light white head. Rather sharp aroma; soft cheeses. Soft texture, like regular gueuze or 1900 Grand Cru. Lot of lactic acidity; dried out oak, hops. Very different from the last bottle I had of this; much softer and more refined; juicy. Moderate almost light sourness; lemon juice, hint of orange zest. Tart grape skin texture in the finish.

Dull foxy orange/amber color; thin spritzy head that fizzles away to nothing. Ultra funky aroma, cheese, feet, sulfur, grapes, and when I was taking off the cap there was this black gunk on it that was positively rancid. but in a good way. Extremely sour, massive dry out effect, grapey aftertaste. In retrospect I probably should have split this 750 with someone; this just killed my stomach halfway through. just one of those beers that’s so good it hurts.
