Jerre (1755), Waregem, Belgium Feb 20, 2008 Bottle, 75 cl. Yesterday @ home, with William ...
Yellow-golden color, with almost no head.
Aroma sour, wood, farmhouse, and fruits.
Medium body. Taste sour lambic, woody, very light sweet at the finish.
Good ! (but we like 3 fnteinen a little more) Holdwine (905), Beertimore, Maryland, USA Feb 15, 2008 On draft at Max’s 72 Hours of Belgian. Tried on a whim, happy I did. Grapey, but in a very good way. Hazy cream soda pour. The grapes give it a strong white wine push into the traditional lambic tarness, yeastiness, even mustiness. More sweetness than one would expect. AmEricanbrew (1747), Louisiana, USA Feb 8, 2008 2005 cork date.Pale amber with no head. Good barnyard funky yeasty smell. Medium bodied with no carbonation. Tart, acidic mouthfeel with a dry flavor of white grape skins (tannins?). What the fuck am i reviewing a wine here??? 62106 Skyview (4007), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Feb 4, 2008 Sampled during joebrew’s last day at Cellar’s Wine & Spirits in St Paul, Minnesota and shared by brewfiend. Pours a semi-cloudy golden yellow brew with a fast dissolving white head that dissipates clean. Aroma of tart chardonnay white wine, strong yeast funk, apple cider and some orange zest. Taste is typical geuze character, very tart, spritzy barnyard yeast flavor but with more lemon zest tartness. Finish is dry, light on alcohol with a yeast funk aftertaste that linger long after the finish. BDR (2139), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Feb 3, 2008 Hazy yellow body with barnyard funk and wine character. The muscat does manage to peak through the funky body giving it a nice mellow character. KAF (441), Coralville, Iowa, USA Feb 2, 2008 Thanks to Brewfiend. Mmm! This was delicious. Hazy dirty yellow pour with a small white head. Barnyard aroma. Nice tart bite to the taste. Very inviting. The barnyard funk is in the taste as well. Maybe some wet hay and mustard seed. Some citrus notes in here as well (lime?). Very nice. DrHomolka (726), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jan 22, 2008 750ml bottled on Oct30 2006. Pours a hazy lemon yellow, translucent with a small but compact white head. Aroma is winey, tart, brett, dry, almonds, hay. The grape component does not stick out, at least not that I can discern. Real nice Geuze like smell though, very appetizing. Taste is tart (my cheeks quench tightly on the first sip), cidery, dry, light bodied with a sparkling wine finish. Pretty sour. A very noticeable lemon flavor, similar to drinking lemon juice for just a moment, though this is not at all unpleasant. Relatively high sweetness, very high acidity. This is one of the more interesting lambics I’ve had and not really in the ways I was expecting. Very nice effort. Adenila (931), Denmark Jan 1, 2008 Really stunning hazy orange look, with a decent white head. Aroma of classic wild fermentation, like a gueuze with only a hint of sweet fruits. Flavor is sour towards tart and very refreshing, wouldnt hurt with even more muscat grapes imo since they didnt come through all that much
