Vigneronne is a blending muscat grapes and lambic, the brewers and beer merchants produced the "druivenlambik" (grapes lambic). White grapes soaked in lambic. The fructose, which abounds in these fruits, enables us to make a beer which is more mellow than the Gueuze or the other fruit beers. The spontaneous fermentation, the ageing in the barrels for several years and the addition of grapes make it a distant cousin of certain white wines. Changed name from Druivenlambik in 1987.

750 ml bottle. 2008 vintage. Seems to be bottled on Christmas eve 2008.
From some online store some time ago.

Clear bright golden colour with a tiny bubbly white head. Very tart and sour aroma with lots of vinegar and musty notes. The flavour is acidic, tart, sour and musty. Very strong and distinctive flavour. A great beverage.

Sample of both 2013 and 2011 bottles at (Hopp)Kurtkeller 016: Cantillon-tastic 01 on 10/11/2014. Slightly hazy pale yellow color with a thin white head that evaporates quickly to a wispy film. Spotty lacing. Aroma of vine fruits, yeast and slight vinegar. Light-bodied with flavors of oaky white wine, herbal yeast and a touch of apple. The finish is oaky with a vinous fruity aftertaste. Enjoyable beer all around.

In the 19th century, and probably a lot earlier than that, there was a small tradition of lambic brewed in the IJle valley, where moscatel grapes were used in it. Cantillon resurrected this type of fruit lambic in the seventies and this is a derivative of it (though no moscatel grapes are used). The foam is minimal (the oil from the grape seeds has a negative effect on it) but the colour is a beautiful hazy orangey blonde. The aroma is stunning and breathes all the good things you’d expect in a refined lambic beer, funkiness, barnyard, hay, old sherry, a truckload of perfumey fruity esters, and indeed sweet white grapes are very apparent as well. Taste is sour and funky, ’wild’ with clear grape presence again, as if you’d pour a fine white wine in an equally fine lambic. The woody tannins, the fruity esters and all the complexity of the lambic bring this to a grand finale. One of the finest lambics I ever tasted.

(Bottle at barVolo for Zwanze Day 2014, Sept 20 2014) Very murky brownish gold with a small bubbly white head that fades. Aroma of white wine, light stone fruit and acid with lots of sweaty feet and cheese funk. Palate has acidic white wine, menthol, in the middle lots of bitter herbal and medicinal notes fight with the bright acidity but the result is surprisingly mellow. In the finish, lingering acid, some grain, herbs, light wood. Medium body with basically no carb. This is a very smooth lambic that channels the white wine character and acidity well without giving up its own qualities. Zippy palate and a nice bold finish. My girlfriend’s favourite Cantillon so far, I believe.

Aroma is wild and I swear I get a burnt aroma off it...weird...I know. But it was so well balanced. The tartness was so smooth and the funk was just present to linger on the finish but not make it bad. So good.

On tap at Biercab. Dark orange color with a thin head. Aroma of honey, grapes and a very little bit of lactic acid. Moderate sourness. Lots of wheat and acidic grapes. Lightly tart. Love the balance of sweet and sour in this one. Yes please

Tap. Pours hazy delicate yellow with surprisingly big white head that actually lasts some time. Nearly sparkling. Aroma is sweet cantillon funk, brett and muscat wine and ripe grapes. Along there’s is citrus, some dry wood and only a hint of wheat. Taste is sour, vinegar and here there really is to speak a bout vinous by. Lot of dry white wine notes. Fizzy carbonation spreads out the tart finish.
