stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 17, 2007 Bottle sampled. Pours orange/golden with an average size white head. Aroma of musty yeast, vinegar, citrus, acidic. The flavor is also acidic, musty yeast, fruit, moderate carbonation. Good brew. jacobwennbom (274), Uppsala, Sweden Jun 17, 2007 Pours still, hazy and yellow and leaves no top save a small with ring along the inside of the glass. Aroma is fruity (but not as much as I had expected), sour and not without the typical horse-like nose. When druk the bewrage fills your mouth with a dry sensation. It almost feels as if it literaly pulls the moist out of your tounge. And of course, there is loads and loads of acidity. Not as much grape in the taste as I thought it would be before the tasting, but in retrospect that might be a good thing. thornecb (1736), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA Jun 10, 2007 Updated: May 20, 2009Cork says 2004 - aged 3 years. Pours bright yellow/gold into a Tumbler. No head, but bright white hugs the rim. Bright white grape and lambic funkaromas. Sharp and tart upfront with a lasting dry, Gueuze finish. The grapes don’t really stand out, but as close to wine as any beer I’ve tried. Would probably be a good cross-over for a dry white drinker... aubreya (676), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jun 2, 2007 The color was hazy, golden with orange hues. The head was thin, fizzy, and it disappeared quickly. There was barely any head. The aroma was muscadines, tart, fermented fruit, and sour. The flavor was VERY tart, sour muscadine grapes. After a few sips of this, my eyes started to water. The palate was thin/medium bodied. The finish was sour. emacgee (1859), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jun 2, 2007 Man alive I was not expecting this. My first Cantillon and boy was it a punch in the face. Split a 750 of this between four people. Poured a hazy orangey amber with almost no head (thin, white, quickly goes away). The aroma was sweet, slightly sour, showed the muscat. The flavor was extremely tart, almost unbearably so. It eclipsed Rodenbach Grand Cru in that respect. Very sour and tart, the muscat was apparent though. The palate was crisp and carbonated, very lively in the mouth. Tmoney99 (4656), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Jun 2, 2007 Bottle with cap and cork from River’s Bend. Poured hazy copper orange color with a minimal head that diminished quickly with minimal lacing. Moderate complex tart fruit yeasty aroma. Medium body with a slick texture. Medium sour fruit flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of long duration. Refreshing brew. oberabcbbsok (686), Hoboken, Belgium May 28, 2007 Bottle 75cl at the beerfestival at Buggenhout 2007. This version were bottled in 1999. No taste of grapes in it but still very tastful and still sour/ thebeertourist (2751), Oslo, Norway May 24, 2007 Bottle at Bier Circus, Brussels. Orangey amber, quite hazy, small white foam. Complex citrus aroma meeting mellower grapes. Flavours start lemony, woody character takes over, but the finish is quite smooth with hints of raisins and almonds. More mellow than other beers from Cantillon, but still rich and complex.
