vtafro (452), , New Jersey, USA Aug 10, 2009 Tap @ SDBF’09. Wasn’t a fan of this. Would like to see if it would mellow with time. But as tasted very tart with spicy finish. jzzbassman (838), New Albany, Mississippi, USA Aug 8, 2009 2005 Bottle. You know how a great experience can up a score for a beer? Can a horrible experience lower it? Yeah, because I split this with my wife and her stupid cat tried and failed to jump on her lamp, dumping a full glass on MY 3 year old loaded Dell Latitude D820. It is toast....32 days out of Complete Care warranty.
Outside of that.....pours a hazy orange with zero head. Big real feedlot aroma...albiet from a distance, and a nice fruitiness. Really tart on the tongue, with a big sour grape finish, very funky. bhensonb (4189), Woodland, California, USA Aug 7, 2009 Bottle from Ledger’s. Bottled 2008. Pours a hazy apricot with a fine white smear for head. Aromas of sour and big white table grapes, maybe muscat. Full bodied with tart carbonation. Flavor is sour, a little very light fruit, and a mild touch of funk. Finishes tart and refreshing. Also a little thick in body. Oak notes come out after awhile. Very good experience. oteyj (716), Canterbury, New Hampshire, USA Aug 3, 2009 A slightly hazy golden lambic with a smallish white head. that slowly dissipates into a white ring of savory wild fermented deliciousness. Aroma is quite tart with white grape prevalent and resounding. Some vinegar and funky barnyard notes complement vinous sweet nectar notes to create a unique aroma. Slightly acidic with some earthiness and funk. Flavor yields an excellent tart vinous quality which is complemented fully by nectar-like sweetness, mild acidity, and a tea like tannin profile. An acidic and moderately sour lemon-lime flavor subsides into an almost dough like yeast character. Quite a lot of intricate flavors bouncing off one another providing a delicious aggregate. Palate is sickly smooth with mild carbonation and a slippery but semi-dry finish. Delicious and expertly crafted- I was extremely impressed by this lambic. craftycarl21 (513), South Hero, Vermont, USA Aug 3, 2009 Light gold pour, slightly hazy, with some visible carbonation. Aroma is certainly of a lambic; lots of brett, tart fruit, vinegar, hay, definite funk, and certainly those white grapes are evident. Flavor is really nice- starts with a very brief hit of sweetness from the grapes, then moves to a definite acidity in the middle of the taste, with notes of tannin. The finish reverts back to a beautiful sweet character, and an aspect of lemon-lime. Palate is really full and complex, as it moves from stage to stage concurrently with the flavor. One of my favorite lambics so far. TaxiDriver (910), Stadland, Germany Jul 31, 2009 Bottle. The aroma is quite fruity, sour and light yeasty. The white head is fizzy and disappears fast. The body is cloudy and light orange. The taste is fruity and sour, the middle part and the finish is a little bit sweeter, but finally it gets sour again. The body is medium strong with a lively carbonation and dry. The finish is really astringent. A very good beer. CamdenD (606), Madrid, Spain Jul 29, 2009 Very incredible beer. Aroma you can smell from across the table and tartness that is nicely mellowed by the oak. This is like a finely aged white wine, not like the over-barriqued Californian chardonnays. Fred82 (346), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jul 27, 2009 Sample at brewery. Pours yellow with a small head. Thin lacing. Nose is tart, acidic and hints of green apples. Cidery like. Taste is cidery, mild tart and fruits. Acidic but not too much. Some sweetness.
